#OptiTrack #OptiFest #MotionCapture #MoCap #TechNews

Hello folks, here’s a little BTS look at our recent shoot for our client, Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

This finished film is part of the Education Everywhere campaign and sets out how Cambridge is helping protect the education of children impacted by conflict and other crises, in partnership with local teachers and NGOs.

It was a fabulous project to be involved with. We got to use some virtual production techniques on this one via
@digitalcatapult & @target3d_ltd We used a huge LED volume that really helped contextualise the film’s important message with real footage of displaced learners and marginalised communities.

We’re super proud of this project. Check out the finished film on our YouTube channel (link in bio).

Congratulations, and huge thanks to everyone at Cambridge who worked so hard to bring this project to life.

Wearables could be the next frontier in how we experience performance. In the latest Opinions Unwired, Allan Rankin, Co-founder of Target3D, looks at the shift from passive entertainment towards experiences where audiences can interact with and become part of what is happening. Game engines, VR, AR and volumetric capture are already opening up new possibilities. For Allan, the next step is interactive wearables, technologies that could respond to the body in real time through touch, muscle sensation and even brain-computer interaction. But it’s not only about what the technology can do. As game engines and immersive tools become more accessible, independent artists and creators are increasingly able to experiment with technologies that were once limited to large-budget productions. For us, that democratisation is particularly interesting. More access means more people experimenting, more creative perspectives and more opportunities to explore what technology can bring to performance. The future of immersive work may not simply be something we watch. It could be something we increasingly feel, influence and experience from within. What excites you most about where interactive technology is heading? @target3d_ltd @target3d_eu #CreativeTechnology #ImmersivePerformance #DigitalPerformance #WearableTechnology #Target3D

We’re really proud to share this recent and important film project for Cambridge University Press & Assessment that we had the opportunity to collaborate on.🙏 🎬 The film, which is part of Cambridge’s Education Everywhere campaign, sets out how Cambridge is helping protect the education of children impacted by conflict and other crises, in partnership with local teachers and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Keeping education going, particularly for young people affected by crisis, is vital. We utilised virtual production techniques (a huge LED screen) to help contextualise the film’s important message with real footage of displaced learners and marginalised communities. Congratulations, and huge thanks to everyone at Cambridge who worked so hard to bring this project to life.
