One of the reasons I added Wörthersee 2014 to the Audi Archives was just how crazy seriously Audi and VW embraced their enthusiast culture. Look closely at these shots and you’ll see a young Rouven Mohr (current Audi head of development), Dr. Ferdinand Piëch (chairman of the supervisory board 2014 and legend outright) and his wife Ursula, Ulrich Hackenberg (Audi head of development 2014), Martin Winterkorn (cEO VW Group 2014), Rupert Stadler (CEO Audi AG 2014), Marc Lichte (Audi design chief 2014) and Heinz Hollerwger (head of quattro GmBH 2014). They all@walked around Wörthersee, attending because they saw the value of the car culture that surrounds their brands. It was an incredible era and I think something the group would do well to remember and shift the corporate culture to one driven by passion at a level of authenticity that didn’t need to be explained.

Day 3 of the trip was wild. Shout out to @elliottdukeroberts for inviting me to take part in the @pvw_mag quiz at 30th Birthday party hosted by @xjamiexoe and @jasoncammisa ! This was so fun. Fueled by beer and teamed up with @autreymcvicker and @tartansix (picture 4), we won the coveted out of date VW ketchup 🤣 you'll see my competitive side leak out in the video as I almost destroy the buzzer 🤣 shout out to @klunkgarage , and the @martiniworks guys who we were up against!

Saturday on Pottstown High Street was a mix of euro, Japanese and American cars (pictures 11-13) but just one street over was the hang out at @matt_rad 's shop. This was a great hang out with even better people and it was great to finally meet Matt and his family for the first time. Certainly a highlight of the day!

Dear L’oe Show, it was nice to finally meet you. It was nice to get to know you and Pottstown. To see what happens when a city and car show coincide to make a place for enthusiasts is inspiring and made me feel like I was attending something from 2012. Not only did I see some of the most amazing builds at your show, but I met some of the kindest folks. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered town, we ate fantastic food, and we talked cars all weekend. There was so much to do that we didn’t even make it to everything you had to offer, which left us craving more. Tell Performance VW Mag thank you for having us on for Trivia, that was a ton of fun. It’s a long time since I left a show feeling quite so much love in the room. @loeshowofficial left us all fuzzy inside this weekend. There was so much love for the magazine on Pottstown High Street - and not just from the OGs who have been there since issue one, but also those who discovered the magazine for the first time this weekend and had the same tingly feeling I got when I picked up my first copy back in 1996 (albeit, 30 years on)! Seeing the younger generation so excited about a magazine they simply didn’t know exists reinforces our belief that the future of the magazine is arguably safer now than it ever was. We’ve ridden the wave of large publishing houses, the Internet’s arrival and a decline in retail stockists. We’re now privately owned, supported by a group of valued Performance Partners and have a hand-selected bunch of global stockists holding the title. PVW is here to stay and we’re looking forward to the next 30 years. Be sure to join us for the rides, kids. Oh, and subscribe if you can…
