WOBBLY WONKY at home ART RESIDENCY 14 days… work! work! work! this is me: Vivian Ross-Smith Days 10 + 11: Abertawe Performance This weekend, at @orielelysiumgallery we continued celebrating @tactilebosch 25th birthday. We observed, performed, listened, chatted, played, reflected, imagined, misremembered. The performance community is where I found my people in Wales, and to have had this time together in my geographical home of Swansea was really special. @vrosssmith @wobblywonkyathomeartresidency

The latest Xchange jam concluded Rua Red’s annual performance festival. This years edition "Cross // Ways Tallaght”, curated by Francis Fay and Olivia Hassett, also featured a mentorship program for student/graduates. Great to have such a good turn out, including Bbeyond members and others who travelled to Dublin. Photography: Fenia Kotsopoulou @feniakotsopoulou and courtesy of Rua Red.

THE THURSDAY SHOW #5 This October, tactileBOSCH is bringing back The Thursday Show for its fifth edition, opening Experimentica Festival at Chapter Arts Centre. The Thursday Show began in 2021, when two former students of Howard Gardens Time-Based Practice course came together to reignite something they felt was missing from Cardiff: a space for artists working with performance to experiment, take risks, share unfinished ideas, and spend time together. Over the years, The Thursday Show has grown into a week-long residency and performance platform. Artists come together to spend time, develop ideas, encounter one another’s practices, and learn more about the performance art landscape in Cardiff and South Wales. The week culminates in a live sharing, bringing together artists working across performance, sound, movement and installation. This year’s Thursday Show arrives at a particularly poignant moment. After years of making work in the basement of the former experimental arts space Shift in Capital shopping centre, alongside and through the support of Axis, we have finally been asked to leave the space. As spaces for artists continue to disappear and the visual arts sector faces an increasingly uncertain future, we’re thinking about what it means to keep making, gathering and experimenting in the face of it all. The Thursday Show has always been about making something happen with what we have. About working at the edges, gathering in unlikely places, and continuing to create space for experimentation even when the spaces themselves are disappearing. So, in the spirit of losing one space and finding another, tactileBOSCH is incredibly excited to be working with Chapter Arts Centre, who have commissioned us to open this year’s Experimentica Festival. And there is even more to celebrate: both tactileBOSCH and Experimentica are both turning 25 this year. Join us for an evening of live performance with: Narida Bradley   Emma Brennan   Jayne Cherry   Jake Wood   Lewis Prosser THE THURSDAY SHOW #5 Opening Experimentica Festival Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff Thursday 22 October | 20:00–22:00 Come and see what unfurls. Reciprocol Gestures starts today at chapter. An exciting program of movement and dance!! Details @chapterartscentre Yesterday we worked with artist Florence Peake on a workshop led by her recent research and practice. Tonight we share workings from the workshop. 7.30pm at Chapter These are some beautiful moments snapped by @pete_takes_pictures In partnership with Chapter, tactileBOSCH present a live performance developed through a one-off workshop with Florence Peake, a London-based artist working across performance, movement and visual art. With a desire to be held in darkness and to dance within it, the ensemble performance has developed from the workshop process. “I have been looking at the choreography of casting methods for the project Your Meaning Not Your Materiality - the duet between the container that holds a form and the liquid that is poured in, solidifies and occupies". @florence_peake
