It is my absolute pleasure and honour to share that a small part of Stop and Smell will be at @thebiancanator Kisapmata book launch on Friday, October 9 at the Motel Theatre!

Stop and Smell will have some selected scent companions for the book and a very special (and limited) collaboration with @ol.facto

We’d love to see you there! RSVP @thebiancanator ‘s bio ☻

Kisapmata is a tender, intimate story of love, identity, and migration. It is truly so special to be a part of the book launch and dare I say, a dream come true! When Kisapmata was in theatre circa 2024, I went to see it 4 times. It was life changing to see a play reflect so much of who I am. It felt like I was an insider, embedded in the story. Kisapmata is a generous, generous gift that I hope all of you can partake in

Calling all people in Edmonton! 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Come on out to THE F WORD, created and performed by Keshia Cheesman and Bianca Miranda as part of the 2026 Expanse Festival!

Here’s the schedule:
March 20th, Friday - 8:30pm
March 21st, Saturday - 8:30pm
March 26th, Thursday - 7pm
March 27th, Friday - 7pm

About The F Word:
Fairytales, lectures, dance, and song are infused with wild whimsy as creator-performers Keshia Cheesman and Bianca Miranda explore their friendship as two fat women on a journey to self-acceptance and fat liberation. They confront fatphobia, diet culture, and the intersection of fatness with race in this playfully political pop-art piece. Come hungry for a new perspective and leave fuller than you came!

LINK IN BIO FOR TICKETS. All tickets are PAY WHAT YOU WILL, with a suggested price at $35 but ANY amount will be accepted.

Tag someone in the comments who you think should see this show👇

We’d love to see you there 🥺

PANEL RSVP NOW OPEN ✨

Join us for A Stage Across Time: Writing for the Ephemeral, a conversation with Filipino playwrights and theatre artists on memory, performance, and the long game of cultural work.

What does the stage allow us to remember differently than other forms of storytelling?

This panel brings together Filipino playwrights and theatre artists to reflect on the slow, often unseen work of building community through performance. From the intimacy of the stage to the reach of books, film, television, and recorded media, theatre offers a uniquely ephemeral form — one rooted in presence, risk, gathering, and the fleeting charge of a live audience.

Together, panelists will discuss the challenges and possibilities of writing Filipino diasporic stories for the stage, the themes shaping their work, and the questions that continue to surface across generations: memory, migration, language, family, resistance, care, and survival.

Centred on intergenerational resistance and the long game of cultural work, this conversation considers theatre as both a record and rehearsal: a space where Filipino communities can return to the past, confront the present, and imagine futures still in the making.

Featuring playwrights Kamila Sediego, Marie Beath Badian, and Bianca Miranda, facilitated by Davey Calderon.

📅 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
📍 Museum of Vancouver
🎟️ RSVP required through museumofvancouver.ca

Reserve your spot and join us for this powerful conversation on theatre, memory, and Filipino diasporic storytelling. 🇵🇭📚✨
