She went back to London to help at The End for a month. She stayed for a decade.

Then came The Palomar, The Barbary, Evelyn’s Table and The Blue Posts.

Zoë Paskin joins us on No Reservation to talk about the making of a great night: music, counter dining, working with her brother Layo, and keeping the personal touch as the business grows.

We also put her through our imaginary Saturday-night service. Two Hollywood stars with no booking, a row over the music and a disputed £600 bottle of wine. She stays considerably calmer than we would.

I’m maybe premature in saying that cosy pub season is upon us?? But here’s some historic London Pubs to celebrate anyway 🍻

There’s actually not much better to me than going into an old pub and feeling like it hasn’t changed in decades or even centuries - and these are just some of the historic gems featured in @livinglondonhistory’s first two books, all with loads of stories to tell.

Their interiors are also amazing!! Maybe I’ll illustrate them one day 👀

A pleasure to welcome Mario Basco of i Cacciagalli to the UK last week. i Cacciagalli is an oasis on the eastern side of Roccamonfina, a dormant volcano a short drive north of Naples, that grows grapes, olives, hazelnuts, Teano chickpeas and more, all benefiting from cool breezes coming down from the Apennines. The wines are vibrant and teaming with energy and life, much like Mario himself. Thank you for coming Mario 🥂

We went to a brilliant gourmet lunch right below a trendy pub. Ivan and I have visited @evelynstable for dinner before. We decided to try their lunch menu. My favorites were the North Sea Halibut and the Baked Yuzu Cheesecake with Strawberries. Delicious meal! We will definitely be back! 😻

Meet our Wine Manager, Marya 🍷

Originally from a small seaside village in Puglia, Marya moved to England eight years ago, spending time in Sussex before settling in London just over two years ago. Having completed her WSET Diploma and continuing to study wherever she can, she approaches wine with an endless appetite for learning.

We asked Marya what makes a wine list exciting. For her, it’s all about bottles with character, balance, and a strong sense of place: producers with a story worth telling and bottles that feel alive on the list, whether that’s a benchmark classic or something a bit more unexpected. The goal is always to create curiosity and memorable moments for guests.

Her current favourites on the list are:

🌟 2024 Erse Etna Bianco @tenutadifessina, served by the glass at @evelynstable

🌟 2024 ‘Amiami Vice’ @ami.wine, served chilled at The Mulwray. A Pinot Noir/Aligoté blend that’s juicy, bright and dangerously easy to drink.

🌟 @nadiacurto Barolo Folia 2019. A bit more of a classic here, but I love the perfume, depth and elegance of this wine.
