A week ago today I sat in a station waiting for my train, not knowing what was to come and was shitting myself….would they like me…would I like them…

I chose bravery.

I sat in an airport as a virgin solo traveller watching my flight be delayed and changed going into meltdown, not only would they like me but now I’m going to miss my connection, they’ll all bond before I get a chance…

I chose belief.

I arrived in Porto to be greeted by @coachstevenwhyte …much train confusion and sharing it with a small gaggle of gay angels…in that moment I knew I was gonna be ok…

We arrived in a stunning location, as all our flights and transfers came in the gaggle of gays was complete…

I chose to connect.

Our time at the retreat had started, @thegaymenscoach @thecybilwar @coachstevenwhyte lead the way, we ate, we drank, we chatted…we slept and then the work began. Laugher, sadness, hugging, smiling, crying, walking, talking, sweating (it was bloody hot), sharing, questioning, listening and journaling…and that was repeated each and every day with Sundays finale of dancing (almost did a slut drop) and celebrating…

I chose vulnerability.

Im now home and the next part of the journey begins. Im truly changed from the man who arrived scared to the man who left brave and willing to show vulnerability(I’m actually crying writing this)…

I chose to back myself. #mensmentalhealth#gaymensmentalhealth#body-positivity#gaybear#lgbtiq🌈

22 seconds off Mark’s 2k row🔥

Progress didn’t come from smashing himself every session.

It came from consistency.

A lot of people approach conditioning by trying to win every workout:

Train hard for 4–6 weeks → get run down → miss sessions → restart.

The problem is fitness adaptations need repeated exposure.

So rather than constantly changing sessions or chasing fatigue, we kept the structure repeatable and gradually increased the demand.

Hard enough to create adaptation.

Controlled enough to recover and repeat.

That’s how progress compounds.

Hard work applied properly.

Social Fitness this weekend was unreal.

Comp style team events, big energy, hard workouts, and an even better atmosphere afterwards.

Exactly what these events are meant to be:
Good people. Hard training. No egos.

Massive thank you to everyone that came down and threw themselves into it.

Already planning the next one. Stay tuned.

Train hard. Socialise.

Another solid Social Fitness session this weekend.

Squat work, handstand practice, then straight into a Hyrox-style WOD.

Good people, good energy, and a proper mix of training and atmosphere.

Next one is live.
