I mean, Shame and Guilt, of course.

God damn it. I’m hired to do a job, and I can’t fully show up for it.

Such an old, familiar story.

I’m trying to listen, but I have no clue what this is about.

So I push a little. I witness. I participate. I push a bit more, because I’ve trained myself pretty damn well to do just that.

I swim in that strange place of floating in the unknown, barely holding it together.

And… I make it through.

With Kate’s support and some loving attention from the people involved, it turns out to be okay. The photos were great, and I didn’t completely fuck up the first impression either. 😂

And of course, the story doesn’t end there.

Little did I know that the moment the job was over, I’d receive news that would leave me grieving for months.

So I wonder now.

Maybe my body knew something I hadn’t caught up with yet.

Maybe it was telling me to stop. To listen. To stop pushing for a moment. Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was the discomfort of actually reaching for a dream. Maybe I just needed more water and electrolytes.

Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Lot of maybes.

Maybe, baby.

Actually, I don’t know.
Have no fucking clue.

I’m trying to listen.

Anyway. I’m glad I was there. ❤️

Btw it’s Sunday.
And I’m really tired today.

Who shows up more in your life lately?

‘Jacob’s Beanbag’ was born in West Wales last year. We love the spacey parallel harmony that makes us feel like we’re floating.

We love the sun on our face even when it’s cold.

What if?
Is the ultimate questions. What could we create?

Looking forward to dreaming up worlds with you on our European Tour in November.

We are Oöm

- a dynamic vocal quartet of artists and performance makers from across the UK and Europe: Kate Mellors, Kate Smith, Emma Coleman, and Phoebe Martha.

Our music draws upon a deep passion for vocal improvisation and musical mastery, blending complex rhythms and rich harmonies with a penchant for provocative, irreverent playfulness and soulful storytelling - where the tender meets the ridiculous. This unique blend of vocal mastery and down-to-earth tomfoolery takes audiences on a captivating journey.

And now we are coming to a city near you. Possibly. Maybe. Probably not… but for a lucky few - anyone in or near Lyon, Paris, Brussels, Utrecht or London - that means you can come to see our new show, WELCOME TO THE PARTY!

Links to tickets are in the bio. See you there :)

And that’s a wrap. It’s official, we have pulled off another Other Lands Other Sounds! And what a fantastic experience it was - the energy in this group was off the charts. From day one’s cross-arts jam, we knew we were on fire, and from then on, we couldn’t be stopped.

18 artists from 9 different countries came together over 12 days hosted by The Court of Cavalum and we dove headfirst into collaborative creation. From art-making treasure hunts, morning movement, exploratory walks, happenings, cross-arts jams, a cynotype workshop, secret puzzles, pizza night, poetry, theatre, mobiles, flower pressing, promenades, aqua-speakers, projection, and soooo much sangria - it’s amazing how much can happen in 12 days.

I’d have to say the most amazing thing, though, and what keeps me coming back to this project despite the craziness of being a sort of guerilla, self-funded project (don’t get me started on that), is the deep impact that is wrought on all of us as humans and as artists. Every person comes out the other side changed. Changed by the spaces held, by our colleagues, by the risks taken, the discoveries made.

It reaffirms for me, every time, that another way is possible.

With so much love and gratitude to everyone who was a part of this unforgettable time. You are amazing.

Till next year!

What does ethical practice look like today?

Most of us didn't enter this work because we wanted to become marketers or business owners.

We wanted to support people.

But somewhere along the way, we find ourselves navigating questions that rarely have straightforward answers.

How do we price our work in a way that's both sustainable and accessible?

How do we communicate what we offer without over-promising?

Where do professional boundaries begin and end?

How do we stay true to our values in a rapidly evolving wellness industry?

These are conversations I believe we need to be having more often.

So I'm delighted to be joined by @theembodiedvoice @healingmotionkw and @melamariposa for a free online round table discussion exploring Ethics in Practice.

Rather than offering simple answers, we'll be sharing perspectives, experiences and thoughtful questions that invite deeper reflection.

There will also be plenty of space for audience questions and discussion.

Tuesday 14th July
18h-19h Lisbon time

Free to attend.

If you can't join us live, register anyway and we'll send you the recording afterwards.

Registration link in bio.
