Last night I saw @theplasticcountryfilm , a powerful investigation into plastic’s impact on our bodies and ecosystems from youth ocean champion @kalglanznig hosted by @__findingnature__ .

Working in waste every day, unfortunately there was little that was a surprise (although it’s still not an easy watch). But it reinforced something I know to be true: our systems were designed, which means they can be redesigned. What feels like an unsolvable problem is a policy and design opportunity, and that’s the work I’m fired up to keep doing.

Thank you @theaussiegarbologist , @vertdesignstudio and Matthew Lonergan for your insights, Finding Nature for a great evening and @gus_tronomy for the best popcorn ever!!

Great to catch up with some of my @theimpactcollab community too.

You can find out more about the film here, and sign the petition calling on the Government to act on packaging waste and plastic pollution.

Last week, we were Fired Up, and so were 100 others from the impact sector. 🔥

It started on stage. With our @global.impact.summit session, ‘It’s Just Not Sexy, The Funding Gap No One Wants To Talk About’. But we knew we’d barely scratch the surface of the discussion, so @thecovaproject, @withyouwecan_, @consentlabs and @tabooperiodproducts asked @muchogroup if they’d help us keep the conversation going.

Collectively we work on reproductive health, period poverty, consent education, sexual violence prevention, criminal justice law reform. All the issues we’re meant to quietly fix without making anyone feel uncomfortable.

Turns out we’re terrible at being quiet…. We prefer hot takes, spicy margaritas, burning questions and conversations that ignite change, collaboration and genuine impact.
Nobody got a ticket. Everyone got a friendship bracelet. And a second one to give away to a trusted conspirator or change-maker. Chatham House rule applied. No sugarcoating allowed (we swapped the sugar for salted margarita rims). The mandate: make friends on purpose.

Because sometimes the best conversations take place when you know the room shares your values and wants to see the same change. We are so much more effective together. Knowing each other, connecting, collaborating, fast tracking the impact. That’s what these nights are for.

If you were there, thank you for getting Fired Up with us. And if you need to be at the next one, reach out. 👋🏼

Go check out our work at @thecovaproject @consentlabs @tabooperiodproducts & @withyouwecan_ and remember, if it’s hard to talk about, it’s underfunded!

5 years ago I joined The Community Collective as a member. This month I’m launching my first program with Paz Pisarski 🏵

Never in a million years did I think that path would lead here.

Over the past year, Paz and I have helped hundreds of companies build communities from scratch. This month, we’re handing you the exact same process.

Because here’s what usually happens when someone sets out to launch a community: They guess.

They pick a platform, design a welcome flow, map out content... all before they’ve spoken to a single person who’s meant to be in the room.

Months of work, built on a hunch and not seeing the results.

So we’re doing something about it.

Introducing How to Launch a New Community.

6 weeks. 6 spots. Kicking off 28 July with The Community Collective.

Together we’ll build your member-interview template, run your interviews, turn what you hear into a clear picture of what your people actually want, and help you decide what to build.

You walk out with your own community model - built on evidence, not guesswork.

We’re running two groups so you’re with people at your stage:
🏵️ One for founders launching their own business or venture
🏵️ One for people building a community inside an existing organisation

Sign up to our free workshop on 21 July if you’re keen to hear more: https://luma.com/a20eqqex

Paz, thank you for trusting me to build this with you. From CC’ian to Coach feels pretty full circle

DM me if you’re keen to hear more!

Celebrated 5 years of @brandkind_community last week with lots of good food, laughs, and new connections 🥰

Being a part of the organising crew for this event was so much fun, as is everything I do with brandkind 💙

Met and exchanged vows with the lovely Sangee, founder of @sangeeskitchenau - stay tuned to see what we cook up in the coming months ✨

More than just accessories 🤍

In this special conversation with Abbey Pantano from The Impact Collab, she shares why she loves our Chunky Hoop Earrings and what wearing AfriBeads means to her.

“I love to wear my values.”

Every pair of AfriBeads earrings is handmade in Uganda by talented women artisans using hand-rolled paper beads, transforming everyday style into meaningful impact. When you choose handmade, you choose connection, craftsmanship, and stories that matter.

Thank you Abbey for sharing your heart and helping us celebrate fashion with purpose ✨

✨ NEW EPISODE DROPPING NEXT THURSDAY ✨

What if community isn’t just a bonus… but the backbone of real change? What if collaboration, care, and purpose are the true drivers of impact?

This week on Change Loves Company, Dominique sits down with Abbey Pantano community architect and founder of The Impact Collab for a conversation about connection, heart-led leadership, and building spaces where people don’t just work alongside each other, but truly grow together.

They talk burnout and rebuilding, values-driven business, small but powerful networks, and why meaningful change happens when we design for belonging, not just success.

This one’s for anyone building something with intention, craving deeper connection, or learning that doing it together is the only way it really lasts.

🎧 Episode out Thursday 5th Feb
📽️ Watch / Listen wherever you get your podcasts
💛 Save it. Share it. Sit with it.

Community is not a “nice to have.” It’s the infrastructure of impact. And it’s how real change takes root.
