POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Loneliness is real.
Many people feel it, even when surrounded by others. But you don’t have to walk through it alone.
At The Lighthouse, we believe in connection, belonging, and family.
Here, it’s not about race, ethnicity, gender, or religion... it’s about being human.
Come be part of our Lighthouse family.
Let’s live, grow, and figure out this journey of life together.

I’m incredibly proud of our Lighthouse team members who are in Colorado attending and participating in The Exodus Road’s Summit to Protect Kids Online.

The INFLUENCED curriculum is an important part of what I believe in, early trafficking prevention, online safety, and educating our youth before they become vulnerable.

Prevention starts with education, awareness, and the right people showing up for our kids. Proud of our team for being part of this important work!

Protecting our children is everybody’s responsibility.

The Lighthouse Historic Field got HISTORY! ⚾️💯

Everywhere I go, I run into folks who got stories about playing baseball on this field back in the day. And listen, the stories be AMAZING! I love hearing them because everybody got a memory, a moment, or a piece of history connected to this place.

Lighthouse Field ain’t just grass and dirt. This is Philly history, real neighborhood memories, and generations of stories that deserve to be told!
Lets keep that legacy moving forward!

🥊 THE LIGHTHOUSE BOXING CLUB IS BACK! 🥊

Some things are bigger than boxing. They’re about our history, our community, and the generations of young people whose lives can be changed when someone believes in them.
The Lighthouse Boxing Club is a part of Philadelphias story. From the 1930s through the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s, it was on the scene, leaving its mark. Now, we believe it’s time to bring that legacy back, not just to remember where we came from, but to invest in where our young people are going.

This is personal. It’s about giving our youth another outlet, a safe space to grow, and an opportunity to discover what they’re capable of. Through boxing, we can teach discipline, patience, self belief, and respect while building positive mentoring relationships that can last a lifetime.
We’re not just bringing back a boxing club. We’re bringing back a legacy, a purpose, and an opportunity to make a difference.

Stay tuned! We’ll be working with partners around the world who share our vision and believe that the art of boxing can help anyone become a champion at life.

The Lighthouse Boxing Club building champions in the ring and, more importantly, in life. 🥊❤️

This Halloween, Lighthouse is bringing family, community, and a love for the game to Spooky Nook!

Meet Siddeeq Bowie, aka Coach Deeq — father, mentor, and community advocate dedicated to making a difference through basketball. He is the Director of Lighthouse Lions AAU Basketball program.

Founded in 1893, Lighthouse has been a beacon of hope in the Philadelphia community for generations. Coach Deeq began coaching with Lighthouse in 2022 and launched its first travel basketball team in 2024, establishing an AAU program built on family, discipline, and opportunity.

As an R.O.V. (Recreation Over Violence) team member, Coach Deeq uses basketball to help keep kids off the streets, build confidence, and give them a positive environment to grow both on and off the court. 🏀💯

WHY LOVE DAY HOOPS? Coach Deeq says every event feels like home. The love, atmosphere, and family environment make it more than basketball — it’s a community!

At Scary Hours presented by Love Day Hoops the Lighthouse Lions will be in full force with all of their teams in attendance!

Man, this picture right here does something to my heart. ❤️💯
To see our young people posted up on the steps of the Lighthouse Community Center at 141 Somerset Street, that’s what it’s all about right there! If you know Philly, you know how important it is for our kids to have somewhere to go, something positive to be part of, and people around them who genuinely care.
Big shoutout to Coach Siddeeq and his whole team for putting in that work! It takes patience, love, consistency, and a whole lot of dedication to keep showing up for our youth. And trust me, that work doesn’t go unnoticed. 👀
And let me give some love to the parents and guardians! ❤️ The ones making sure their kids get there, rearranging schedules, making sacrifices, and doing whatever they gotta do to keep their children involved in something positive. WE SEE Y’ALL! Sometimes that sacrifice doesn’t get enough recognition, but today, we’re giving you your flowers. 🌹
And to the young people who get up, make that conscious decision, and show up for themselves, even when nobody has to force you? SALUTE! 🫡 That decision matters. You’re investing in yourself, and that’s something to be proud of.
Listen, we all know our city has its challenges. That’s exactly why spaces like Lighthouse matter so much. Our kids deserve more than just somewhere to be. They deserve people who believe in them, opportunities to grow, and a community that lets them know they matter.
It really does take a village, Philly. And when the village shows up, our young people win!
Much love to everybody putting in work behind the scenes, pouring into our kids, and helping them see that there’s something positive waiting for them.
Keep going, y’all. The work matters. The kids matter. And the future matters.
LET’S GO LIGHTHOUSE!!! 🔥❤️💪🏾
