This Halloween, Lighthouse is bringing family, community, and a love for the game to Spooky Nook!

Meet Siddeeq Bowie, aka Coach Deeq — father, mentor, and community advocate dedicated to making a difference through basketball. He is the Director of Lighthouse Lions AAU Basketball program.

Founded in 1893, Lighthouse has been a beacon of hope in the Philadelphia community for generations. Coach Deeq began coaching with Lighthouse in 2022 and launched its first travel basketball team in 2024, establishing an AAU program built on family, discipline, and opportunity.

As an R.O.V. (Recreation Over Violence) team member, Coach Deeq uses basketball to help keep kids off the streets, build confidence, and give them a positive environment to grow both on and off the court. 🏀💯

WHY LOVE DAY HOOPS? Coach Deeq says every event feels like home. The love, atmosphere, and family environment make it more than basketball — it’s a community!

At Scary Hours presented by Love Day Hoops the Lighthouse Lions will be in full force with all of their teams in attendance!

INFLUENCED!!!!!!!!!
@influencedorg
A program designed by the @theexodusroad
to educate and protect youth and families from the dangers of the internet and online exploitation.
We are honored and grateful to have the incredible team from The Exodus Road come to Philadelphia and work alongside the Lighthouse team to educate, train, and empower our youth, families, and professionals.
Because this work is bigger than one organization.
It takes people coming together. It takes knowledge being shared. It takes collaboration.
And when I say COLLABORATION IS EVERYTHING, I really mean it.
Thank you, The Exodus Road, for believing in the work, coming to Philly, and standing with us as we work to protect our young people.
This is what community looks like.

Look who took over halftime👀

Our Lighthouse Flag Football players had an unforgettable opportunity to take the field during halftime at today’s Philadelphia Eagles game in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

A huge thank you to the Philadelphia Eagles for giving our players this opportunity and creating a moment they’ll remember for years. You have our hearts for shedding a light to our community like this. 💚

We’re proud of our players for representing The Lighthouse on a very big stage.

Gloves on. Game faces ready.

Our young athletes have been getting out on the field, learning the game, building their skills, and most importantly, having fun together.

Thank you @volokidsfoundation for your support.

FLOW FEST came to the Lighthouse Field and IT WAS LIT! 🔥🔥🔥
I mean literally! 😂
The vibe was incredible. The energy, the music, the people, the whole atmosphere, it’s honestly hard to find the right words to describe it.
So instead of me trying to explain it
GO FOLLOW @FlowFestPhilly and see for yourself!
Thank you, Flow Fest Philly, for choosing the Lighthouse to bring your vibe, your flow, and your energy to our field.
This is what community looks like when the right people come together.
The Lighthouse Field was definitely feeling the FLOW!
