โœจ๏ธANNOUNCING: 10 YEARS OF BICYCLE FACE CHRISTMASโœจ๏ธ Dear friends, can you believe we've been singing about Christmas unicorns and making yuletide mashups for over a decade?? From the first ever, highly exclusive "Christmas with Myrhhvana" in my (Ava's) living room in 2013 - when Bicycle Face first became a glimmer in our post-show, pecan-whiskey-glazed eyes - to the cozy Epsilon Cabaret era of recent years, our annual Christmas show has become the most cherished tradition of the two BFFs that Bicycle Face comprises. Now we're so excited to bring it to @thewecc , with a full band, for a ten-year BF XMAS Best Of. To all the sweet friends who celebrated with us in yuletides past: Thank you! โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ„ We appreciate you and we hope you'll come out for the big one! To all the new folks who've never heard of us: Welcome! Come in and make merry! To anyone who's annoyed that we're talking about Christmas while you're still in spooky season: Rest assured that alongside the sweetness, our show encompasses all the horrors of Christmases past, present, and future, including giant child-eating cats, rogue AI xmas bots, and billionaires in space. See you there! โœจ๏ธDecember 11th at the West End Cultural Centreโœจ๏ธ Jolly photos by @amilia.fehr !

OH! @theysaystories , @livinghour , @theresathor , @tttopsss , @kylievmusic , @llauralucas , @soootsprite ,@trasherwhite , @justmustard and a lot more! ๐Ÿป:๐Ÿน๐Ÿถ๐™ฟ๐™ผ ๐™ฒ๐šŽ๐š—๐š๐š›๐šŠ๐š• ๐š˜๐š— ๐š„๐™ผ๐™ต๐™ผ, ๐š˜๐š› ๐š๐š‘๐šŽ ๐š•๐š’๐š—๐š” ๐š’๐š— ๐š–๐šข ๐š‹๐š’๐š˜ ๐š’๐š ๐šข๐š˜๐šž ๐š ๐šŠ๐š—๐š ๐š๐š˜ ๐š•๐š’๐šœ๐š๐šŽ๐š— ๐š๐š˜ ๐š’๐š ๐šŠ๐š—๐š/๐š˜๐š› ๐š˜๐š•๐š ๐šŽ๐š™๐š’๐šœ๐š˜๐š๐šŽ๐šœ ๐š˜๐š— ๐š๐šŽ๐š–๐šŠ๐š—๐š.

This morningโ€™s random local pull: 2024โ€™s โ€˜Reveryโ€™ by @theresathor, best-known as a member of the glorious @bicyclefaceband (among other projects)! This is a really nice liโ€™l solo album (or is it an EP? Do words have meanings anymore?) by someone who has been consistently making great music, at least since I first heard Bicycle Face maybe a dozen years ago now. Can it possibly be that long? Anyway, you can check out Theresaโ€™s most recent appearance on the podcast here, back in August of 2024: https://witchpolice.com/episodes/wr923-theresa-thor-and-devon-gillingham

Theresa @theresathor as Kilter with an introspective and harmonically rich set, @r.sheaves.music (Robert and Jessica) tore it up on their Winnipeg leg of their tour - I learned that Roger is a composer as well!! And finally, my first time hearing @bicyclefaceband perform - truly a delight. @lobarwpg So much artistry, poetry, harmony, play, and fun. Great people and music. Thanks for the delightful evening!

๐ŸŒธ One week away!! ๐ŸŒธ Join us for a sweet lil house show at @lobarwpg ! Our (BF's) own @theresathor will detach from the trio to kick off the evening with her first performance under her old/new name, โœจ๏ธKilterโœจ๏ธ - I (Ava) can confirm that Theresa had the name first but then the beer company came along and long story short she stopped using it for a bunch of years so she wouldn't be associated with craft beers but honestly I think it's great marketing. T can correct me in the comments if I'm getting this story wrong. In fact, you can all weigh in about it if you like! The delightful @r.sheaves.music is joining us all the way from Newfoundland! Bicycle Face plays last! Can't wait to close out this lovely night of music๐ŸŒน Doors 7:00 Kilter 7:30 R Sheaves 8:15 Bicycle Face 9:00 Home by 10:00 = a perfect & chill night yay! Message Lo Bar for tix! ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒผ P.S. Check out this gorgeous poster lovingly and painstakingly collaged over the course of many hours by Theresa i.e. human-made etc etc you get what I'm saying

A wondrous celebration of all-Manitoban performers at @thewecc with incredible sets by The SunDog Ensemble, A Moon Shape Noise and Tanja Faylene Woloshen + oฬFukami! How special it was to see these folks do their thing to a sold out house. We are so grateful. Special thanks to @thewecc for being our home base and a massive thank you to @vp_media_arts their support in providing rehearsal space for oฬFukami and Tanja Faylene Woloshen as well as the production support. A very special thanks to @andrewyankiwski at @precursorproductions for supporting the development of oฬFukamiโ€™s performance through our annual Precursor Residency! Thank you to @migueljfortier at @cerclemoliere for helping us with the Marley flooring! Big ups to @if_it_moves for production help, to all the volunteers for their time and energy. Cluster is a massive community project and we appreciate you all! Photos by @eric__roberts ๐Ÿ“ธ

In the polar skies, a wild SunDog Ensemble appears, singing their siren song (aka Solvarg, by clarinetist/composer/conductor extraordinaire @composerkitandhiscats). Quote from a recent observer/audience member: "I feel like my ears have gone to the spa". Sound on for a Nordic sauna experience ๐Ÿ› Do SunDogs actually sing? Find out at @clusterfestival, 8 PM Thursday May 28th at the @thewecc in Winnipeg. (Point your telescope at our bye-o for tixxx)

Four months late.. But hereโ€™s to the best times and people in Banff! Swipe right for proof that the modern pianist is still alive hahaha โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” Itโ€™s been such an inspiring journey every time in Banff! This time has many firsts: playing with lights to create music, aurora-chasing in deep winter with so many friends, and performing/recording some really fun new music. So so grateful for all the guidance and mentorship! Walking into 2025-26 quite excited but also a little lost..how do I know what I am good at, and perhaps more importantly, how do i stay afloat (and sane..) in this big big world. I am encouraged to see myself in a new light, as an artist and not an imposter! Itโ€™s liberating and the most transformative experience again!! Thank you for everything! ๐Ÿ”๏ธ
