🍂 Crisp air, crunching leaves, Somerset views and a cosy pub roast at the end, complete with crackling log fire... is there a better way to spend an autumn Sunday? From woodland wanders and country trails to sweeping hilltop vistas and ancient castles, these are just some of our favourite walks with a pub roast at the end. 🧡

Save this for your next autumn adventure and tell us: which Somerset pub serves your favourite Sunday roast? 👇

Somerset’s Dog-welcoming Pubs with Rooms Leading the Way!

Fall season is here 🍁 and in my opinion there’s only one way to soak it up with your dog in tow - think cosy pubs with roaring fires, hearty food and some brilliant countryside walks on the doorstep.

Whether you’re planning a weekend of hiking on Exmoor, exploring the Mendips or visiting Somerset’s pretty rural villages, these are the most dog-welcoming pubs with rooms to have on your radar this autumn.

A very good excuse to visit Somerset for a cosy escape!

Grab a copy of the October edition of @somersetlifemagazine and make sure you pin these dog-welcoming destinations on your radar 📍🐾

Save this for your Somerset story 🇬🇧

Almost too good to share. But we do have manners….

📍 THE TALBOT INN, MELLS

The Talbot is the whole Somerset story — from bath to bar, bed to barn.

Step through the old stone gateway and into its charming courtyard, with crackling fireplaces, beautifully atmospheric rooms, seriously good food and that warm, relaxed energy you wish you could bottle.

All tucked away in Mells, one of Somerset’s most beautiful historic villages.

Come for lunch. Stay for drinks. Check in. Forget to check out.

Not too shabby, actually.

Remembering my grandma Elsa on what would have been her 100th birthday 💜 We returned to Mells, where she grew up and where in 1939, she met my grandad. He had been evacuated from London and taken in by her family during the war.

A heatwave to remember has brought out the parasols in record numbers across Somerset & Devon!

Is it just me, but aren’t they the prettiest things to look at in the sunshine?!

Thanks to every restaurant & cafe for keeping us cool in the sunshine
