POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@amandakbrinkman Purpose Pursuit packed the @guthrietheater with possibility. 💛

Amanda shared a year of her research, and two themes resonated beautifully: service and mentorship.

@roxanebattle known for bringing joy, did just that as MC. Proud of my fellow Roseville peep!

Amanda’s special guest was @themonicanassif of Mrs. Meyer’s fame (@mrsmeyerscleanday), who brought her beautiful mother, Thelma Meyer.

At 94, Thelma wowed the room with pearls of wisdom, one being:
“Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.”

Amanda also brought David Booth to the stage. An aspiring speaker, athlete and Special Olympics board member, I’d say he has a wonderful career ahead of him.

Amanda shared beautiful lessons on timing: what we learn along the way, and when is the right time to get on the bus. 🚌

So many familiar faces! A lovely, foundational discussion with the incomparable @nylons 😉, we enveloped Mary Younggren in our photo, and it was great to see Katie Burke and Jill Palmquist.
Personally, this is becoming an annual event with wonderful friends. The group is a bit fluid depending on who can make it, but I’ve given us a name: the Purpose Pursuit Posse! We are the embodiment of what Amanda talks about. We show up for each other, mentor each other and love each other. This year we even welcomed @michelle.murgatroyd.10, visiting from South Africa.

Amanda is part of The View in Your Mirror family (S7 E5), and Monica will join us soon. Stay tuned! 🎙️

I encourage you all to create a posse. I suspect many of you already have one. It certainly doesn’t need formality. It simply needs a desire to keep showing up. 💗

Some moments are simply too meaningful for words. Watching the women I love step into this weekend feeling beautiful, confident, and completely themselves was one of them.

@mira_couture, specifically the owner @juliemersine, has an extraordinary gift: you give her an idea, and she bring it to life in a way that feels deeply personal. She doesn’t simply create beautiful dresses; she sees the woman wearing them, and somehow capture who she is and how she dreamed of feeling.

So much beauty, so much love, and so much gratitude for the artistry and heart she brought to one of the most meaningful weekends of our lives.

The other day I walked into Statement boutique and tried on a dress. Wrong bra. Obviously. I’m standing there looking at myself in the mirror when Margaret, who works there, says —

“In a prior professional career I worked with a woman who was a stickler for pulling up the bra straps.”

I didn’t even hesitate.

“Was it Lisa Rubin?”

Margaret confirmed it.

I mean. COME ON.

Lisa has known exactly who she was and what she was put here to do since she was 21. Twenty-one. Her clients and colleagues have always known it too — they tell her constantly. But Margaret was a ghost from Lisa’s professional past who walked into my present on a Monday and I got to be the one to deliver the news.

That’s the reach of this woman.

Six years. A podcast. A friendship I didn’t see coming and now cannot imagine my life without. She doesn’t walk into a room thinking she belongs there — she just commands it. A stage. A closet. A conversation. She is a quiet stealth assassin of excellence. A tiger mama. A direct truth-teller. The most fabulous mirror I have ever stood in front of.

She is not easily confounded. She opened that door specifically for me. I consider it one of the great honors of my life.

This is 65. This is a life built on purpose. This is my best friend.

Happy Birthday Lisa. I love you. #theworldiswatchingmn Margaret sends her regards. 🪞✨🥂#TheViewInYourMirror #HappyBirthday #65 #BestFriends WomenOver50 MargaretKnew StatementBoutique

I am in awe of @umnfashionfest 25 and all those responsible for making it happen. Record setting numbers, and an evening of pure love. So many people gave their time and talent to make this magical night happen and celebrate so many victories that have happened and will continue to happen because of such support. Special shout out to leadership and staff at U of M, M Health Fairview, @dogoodeventsmn and this years co-chairs Stephanie Sauer and Bridget Swenson. Also to my fellow committee members - thank you for welcoming me to this amazing group of people who lead by example.
