It’s Pastor Appreciation month. To be honest it’s not anything I remember celebrating growing up…but my perspective has shifted in the last two years of the conversations I’ve had for the podcast. I’ve heard from PK’s that say what a blessing and formational time those celebrations were for them.

I want to take a minute and honor my Dad. I’ve had a front-row seat to bear witness to his ministry for the last 46 years. I’ve seen the fruit from his labor in the people that he’s ministered to. From eight-year-old boys that are now grandparents themselves….to the ministry leaders across the world that have soaked up dad’s wisdom, and conviction for #kidmin

I’ve been blessed to see him not just preach things with words but live them. I’ve seen him stir up the gift inside him and fan the flame, keeping it from going out, over and over and over. When it would be easier to quit and go get that marketing job he says he’s learned the skills for from being in ministry, he perseveres. I’ve watched him encourage himself in the Lord. I’m starting to see some fruit in my life from remaining faithful and let’s be real, it’s because I’ve had the best example.

I also have to admit he’s a really good dad. As a parent I now understand the sacrifices he made to launch me…and the intentionality of his words to speak life to me. I could go on and on but alas there is a word count so I’ll just say: the pastor I appreciate the most is my Dad @jimwideman 💙

When I received a message asking me if I wanted to go to the Dude Perfect HQ it was a no brainer that I was gonna say yes. It being a date on the calendar that I could make work was a sigh of relief. Receiving confirmation I could bring my boys was a total bonus.*

We arrived to the Dude Perfect HQ seeing Cody outside…and camera guys the boys recognized from their videos. Inside we saw a building that is such a representation of what happens when you dream big. We played in the space where the guys shoot their videos. Sparrow & Rhythm played soccer, basketball, putt-putt, attempted Impossible Shots and more.

I was approached by a couple little girls who shared they enjoy my music. These little girls just happened to be the daughters of one of the Dude Perfect twins, Coby Cotton. I was able to grab a photo of us with @cobycotton but honestly walked away in tears. So moved that my songs are impacting a Christian family…but it just so happens to be a Christian family with much influence in our culture and this generation of families. I was humbled to say the least! It was a night that just felt like gift after gift after gift to my weary soul. Because we are all in a spiritual battle to help proclaim the Gospel and lead disciples to know Jesus.   That’s why I am so excited and just am moved by the possibility of what this ALL IN VBS by Amazing Life + @dudeperfect can do. To help boys and girls that don’t normally go to church be interested in what’s happening at that church building they drive by every day. It’s an opportunity for friends from school and sports teams to invite their friends/teammates to a “best week ever” experience at a church in their city and neighborhood where five guys they watch videos of all the time and go to arenas with their family to see their live show, will hear how Jesus is who these guys serve. They will share their faith. THIS IS THE GOSPEL!

If you’re a parent, find a church in your area and take your kids. It’s going to be a Kingdom growing, disciple making, FUN-filled adventure they need to experience this summer. (More ⬇️)

Williamson County Fair on a Sunday night was a hot one but also just the perfect dose of fun and thrill.

Fun seeing friends there, watching pigs race and of course eating some fair food along the way.

The family got to have a birthday dinner and presents for @rhythm_gold then we all went to see the new #Spider-manMovie together. It was amazing!

Such a special day to glance over and see my boy leading kids in worship right there with me.
Swipe to see us on stage…and I love to see the passion while he does it. Today is a day I don’t want to forget.
