Maybe you’re learning to surf for the first time. Maybe you’re finding your way back to the water. Or maybe you’ve been looking for a place where you can simply show up as you are.

Community doesn’t have an expiration date. There’s still time to meet people who cheer you on, paddle out beside you, laugh with you, and remind you that you don’t have to navigate life alone.

Sometimes, finding your people starts with simply showing up. 🤙🏽

Your wave. Your pace. Your people.

The more immersed we’ve become in Third Wave, the harder it is to explain it like a program.

It’s the conversations. The surfing. The people. The weird little moments in between.🥹

This summer, our first Third Wave cohort has been showing up every Thursday to learn, surf, connect and spend a few hours together by the water.

We partnered with @vbsurfsessions to help us bring the surf side of this experience to life, and they’ve given us so much more than surf lessons.

They’ve made space for beginners, met people where they are, laughed with us, rolled with us and somehow never seem to mind when we shove a camera in their face.

They’ve been a pretty pivotal part of what this summer has felt like.

And we’ve captured a lot of it.

The good stuff. The goofy stuff. The little conversations that probably explain Third Wave better than we ever could.

@carly_riddle_ always says “healing comes in waves.”

The more I live inside of this experience, the more I realize life does too.

if you’re following along, please enjoy a little behind-the-scenes look at Third Wave Thursday with @vbsurfsessions. 📷 🌊

There is something incredibly powerful about watching women find healing through the ocean. 🌊💙

I had the opportunity to visit the amazing women of @wavesofchangecoalition during their Third Wave Thursdays program and provide a healthy meal donation from @cleaneatzofvirginiabeach . Supporting organizations that pour back into our community is something I’m truly grateful to be a part of.

@thirdwavevb combines surf therapy with somatic practices to help female veterans reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and build community in a safe, supportive environment. In partnership with @vbsurfsessions , these sessions take place at beautiful Croatan Beach and offer so much more than surfing—they create space for healing, confidence, and hope.

If you’re a female veteran looking for connection, stress relief, or a fresh path toward healing, I encourage you to learn more about this incredible program. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Thank you to Waves of Change Coalition, VB Surf Sessions, and everyone involved for allowing Clean Eatz Virginia Beach to be a small part of such an impactful mission. We are honored to support organizations that are changing lives right here in our community. Stay tuned for 📸 shots @kelsie_shae_photography

The way I think about it is, in order to start healing from deep-rooted trauma, we have to feel safe enough in our bodies to actually work with it. Because when we go through something overwhelming and we don’t have the coping skills, support, or capacity we need in that moment, our system finds ways to protect us.

It’s more than mental health .. it’s #nervoussystem #somatic #experience #life
