Today I shared a story about how I wanted to come to Fit For Duty back in 2019, but no one wanted to go with me, so I didn’t go. At that point in my life, the thought of going alone and being uncomfortable felt overwhelming. Looking back now, if I had gone, stepped outside my comfort zone, and met guys like @nodonutshere @therealjumpmanjay and @theptboss who knows what kind of impact that could have had on me during a really rough time mentally.

Fast forward to the last four years, and I’ve had the opportunity to help promote Fit For Duty and meet some incredible people every year. It’s crazy how life works out sometimes. Everything really does happen for a reason.

I love this event. It helps me, and for everyone who attends, I hope it helps you too.

Part 7 - March 28 2026 - The best day of my life

there is no other day currently in my life that tops March 28 of 2026. It was the most perfect day.

After surfing and getting ready, I got to walk down the aisle with the man who has always been there for me my sweet kind uncle @alanstrunk . The wedding venue @casaislenarincon couldn’t not have done a better job, setting things up, and even though the wind was whipping, thankfully it wasn’t raining and the wind was cooling us all off!

My hilarious, kind, caring, sweet friend @yabba_danna_doo (aka @luckydogsurf ) was our officiant and she absolutely crushed it! Even though it was her first time officiating a wedding you would’ve thought it was her 30th. She was a natural! Steve and I also exchanged our own vows that we wrote separately, which turned out to be extremely similar to each other. But most importantly, if you weren’t there, we each promised the other that we would let each other win in at least one game of Rummikub.

We took photos with our family, but also got to enjoy our cocktail hour for a little while and thank goodness we did because the food was absolutely incredible!

Steve and I shared our first dance to joy of my life by Chris Stapleton.

Then I had my brother sister dance with my best friend of all time and all eternity @joshuashebroe to better together by Jack Johnson

And Steve and his mom danced to the song mother.

We ate dinner under a globe lit tent, and danced the night away under the stars in the sand, and I even impromptu wrapped some Ja Rule from the good old days.

At the end of the night, we jumped in the pool in our dresses, and hung out late in true fashion to play around of dominoes and skyjo.

There was literally not a moment of this day that I would change if I could. It was absolutely perfect thanks to my vendors!

Life Updatr Part 3 January 2026 - Hawaii Trip and helping my friends buy a house!

so my brother, who has always had a way with words, dubbed our on paper wedding in December our “ Temu wedding” because it was planned quickly and on a budget (but was nowhere near related to Temu and any sense of the word!)

So what comes after a Temu wedding? A Temu-moon! Steve is still in the Air Force reserve and has to do what’s called an annual tour where him and his unit a base assist however needed for about 2 1/2 weeks. This year his unit was sent to Hawaii, so of course I decided to make a trip of it and tag along! And it ended up being for longer than I thought, and ended up staying for 12 days.

It was really cool to be back in a place that I had once lived and spent so much of my time. Even though Steve had to work on base for a good portion of the time, we still got to do so much together!

We surfed as as much as we could, walked at at least 3 miles a day, ate so much good food, did my favorite ever hike on Oahu and got to watch the sunrise over Lani Kai. We did a full North Shore day trip to watch the backdoor shootout (Surf competition) which was going on at that time! We ate garlic shrimp from shrimp trucks, some of the best Ramen I’ve ever had, and an amazing dinner at crouching lion on the east side after visiting my long lost Bestie @burnie_mac and her adorable family!

I got to drive Steve past where I used to live in Ewa Beach and to my surprise (which brought tears to my eyes) saw my old hibiscus bushes that I had planted out front had grown to be at least 7 feet tall! We saw my good friend and old neighbor Joe, and we toured Pearl Harbor for the first time for Steve.

Then we came home and I went right back to business, helping my close pals @carleeszarek and @thtguyjesse clothes on their next home together in Point Pleasant (with some Epic closing cookies from @room_for_dessert ). January was a solid month!

Answer: The Frontline Connection

The Frontline Connection is a collaboration between @shell_mosa of @guiding_hope_counseling and myself with @reps_for_responders. Our goal is to connect first responders with mental health and substance use providers who specialize in working with first responders.

We are here to break down barriers and make access to treatment as easy as possible if and when it’s needed.

Thank you to all 11 providers who attended and shared your resources, and thank you to the 11 different department representatives who showed up to help break the stigma around the concept of asking for help.

And a special thank you to @milliesoldworld for hosting and @jockofuel for providing healthy supplements to ensure we stayed hydrated and hit our protein goals!
