What if the enemy has been tempting you with something God already gave you?

When Satan tempted Eve in the garden, he told her that eating the fruit would make her like God. But here’s what’s so interesting to me: she was already created in His image and likeness! (Genesis 1:26)

And I wonder how often we find ourselves doing the same thing. Striving for identity, significance, and authority without fully recognizing who God created us to be.

Jesus didn’t just come to give us a better life. He came proclaiming the Kingdom of God, inviting us into a restored relationship with our Creator and a new way of living under His reign.

You cannot fully understand who you are until you begin to understand whose you are and the Kingdom you belong to.

There’s so much more to discover about our identity in Christ, and I believe it’s time we begin living with a greater revelation of what God has made available to us!

💬 Comment DEEPER and we’ll send you more from @theheadlees — This is from Walk it out Wednesday at @tphdallas a few weeks ago.

This one hits different… I wept in my car this morning as the Lord started speaking to me about this season in my life… I’ve been seeing God fulfill some beautiful promises in my life lately, and I’m genuinely grateful. But the more I experience promises unfolding, the more I’m reminded that none of it compares to simply knowing Him.

I don’t ever want to become so consumed with what God has called me to build that I forget to enjoy the One who called me… He pulled me out from the pit… He walks with me hand in hand as a father and a son… He is patient with me, he doesn’t gawk at what is hard or challenging to me even though He suffered much worse… He doesn’t minimize my pain, He sits in it with me and comforts me… wipes my tears and encourages me to move forward.

Before the assignment, before the accomplishments, before any of it... He wanted us. And He still does… What a privilege it is to know Jesus. 🥹

I’ve been reminded that what God has entrusted to us is so much bigger than what we can accomplish for ourselves.

There are people on the other side of our obedience. People we may never meet, lives we may never know we’ve impacted.

That’s why we can’t afford to get so caught up in what we’re building that we forget WHY we’re building it.

Whatever God has placed in your hands, be faithful with it. There’s more at stake than you realize.

I believe we’re living in a time where we cannot afford to neglect what God has entrusted to us.

Noah was given instructions to build something in preparation for what he had not yet seen. And by faith, he BUILT IT!

Whether it’s a business, a film, a ministry, or the family God has entrusted to you, there’s work for us to do!

We don’t know the day or the hour, but we do know that Jesus is coming back. And when He does, I want to be found faithful with what He placed in my hands.

This is not the time to abandon your assignment. BUILD IT!

Sometimes the pressure we put on ourselves to become everything we’re called to be can distract us from actually living the life we’ve been given.

Between marriage, entrepreneurship, ministry, leadership, and all the transitions we’ve experienced, there was a season where I became so consumed with trying to do everything well that I lost the joy of simply being present.

There’s a difference between being responsible for what God has entrusted to you and believing that everything depends on you.

Yes, to whom much is given, much is required. Growth will stretch you, and responsibility will require more of you. But that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to carry it all in your own strength… God never intended for that.

slowing down isn’t a sign that you’re falling behind… It’s how you make room to actually experience the life you’re working so hard to build.

We’re unpacking this and more on The Middle with the Headlees episode “WE HAD TO UNLEARN MARRIAGE” 🎙️👩🏾‍🤝‍👨🏼

What if your fear of losing a relationship is actually keeping that relationship from becoming healthy?

One of the things we’ve had to learn is that avoiding difficult conversations isn’t always an expression of peace. Sometimes it’s a reflection of our own fear of rejection, confrontation, or being misunderstood.

And somewhere along the way, we can begin confusing forgiveness with allowing unhealthy patterns to continue.

But here’s what we’re learning: You can love someone, extend grace, and forgive them while still being honest about what needs to change.

Healthy relationships require more than good intentions. They require the willingness to have uncomfortable conversations, establish healthy boundaries, and give one another room to grow.

Sometimes the conversation you’re most afraid to have is the very conversation your relationship needs.

We’re talking about this and so much more on The Middle with the Headlees! ❤️

God is so intentional. Sometimes you don’t recognize just how intentional He is until years later, when you look back and see how He’s been connecting the dots all along.

@danavaughns and I first crossed paths when we were just kids, around 12 or 13 years old, on a dance and entertainment tour called NRG Dance Project. I was a young dancer, and Dana was performing with his group IM5 alongside dance crews from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.

Who would’ve thought that all these years later, God would bring our paths together again, this time with a shared passion for empowering the next generation of Kingdom creatives?!

We believe wholeheartedly in the power of art, entertainment, and storytelling to shape culture.

We’re passionate about helping creatives pursue their calling without losing themselves along the way. These are conversations we have regularly, and the lessons we’re sharing come from things we’ve experienced firsthand.

Because what does it profit someone to gain the whole world and lose their soul? (Mark 8:36)

You don’t have to compromise who God created you to be to succeed, and someone else’s success is not a threat to your assignment.

Several of these lessons come directly from Dana’s book, 20 From 20, where he shares wisdom from 20 years in the entertainment industry and the conversations he wishes he’d had sooner.

Tag a creative you want to grow with, and comment LESSON for the link to Dana’s book. 🤝

Something I’ve been constantly sitting with is the fact that my life and everything concerning me was a brilliant idea in God‘s mind… He predestined each and every single one of us and gives us an opportunity to trust him and to let him lead us into everything he knows about us… Every day, I have many prayers that I pray one of which is proverbs 3:5-6… go ahead and give your Bible app some usage and go read it and pray it… Share this with a Creative or somebody who needs to know that their story and who they are is so much bigger than they even knew… If you’re with me and you’ve ever sat with the stock, leave a comment below.

I genuinely believe & sense that we’re entering a significant window of time, and I want to encourage you not to miss what God is doing because your attention has been consumed by everything else.

for some of us… the invitation in this season isn’t to strive harder, but to surrender deeper. To become sober-minded, walk wisely, and be faithful with what God has already placed in our hands… Hunger and thirst after righteousness (King Jesus)

Especially as we approach these final two months of the year, I believe there’s something worth paying attention to.

Plant. Water. Trust God with the increase. 🌱

There was something so important that I saw while studying for the message we shared in LA… I only got to share it with a smaller group of people so I knew that it was something that I needed to give its own moment.

There are two critical connections for this season and they are found in Ephesians 5 & 1 Peter 5… Leaaaan in! ⚔️🎺🎯‼️🎙️

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬, ‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
