Our crow is taking this one personally. Their cousin’s name is on the Jackdaw gas field, which has just been given the green light.

Corvids are clever, resilient and look out for each other. The UK government's decision to approve Jackdaw is none of those things. It won’t knock a penny off anyone’s bills this winter, barely touches our energy security, and ties us even tighter to a fuel that’s polluting, volatile and getting pricier.

What we really need is clean, community-owned power that brings bills down and keeps the lights on.

🍿💌 Introducing the Lights, Climate, Action Substack!

That’s right, your favourite podcast that looks at films and TV through a climate lens is making the switch from audio to the written word.

Why, you may ask? As well as birthing a newsletter, we’ve also recently birthed a baby. With a little (a lot) less time on our hands and some logistical challenges of trying to record decent audio with some adorable yet very loud baby babbles in the background, we decided that in order to keep our love for climate cinema alive, we would need to find a new way to share our (often quite controversial) opinions with you all.

So, if you’ve missed the fun of the pod, head to the link in our bio to subscribe! The first review is a fun one 👀🪏🤠

Whilst the rest of us were watching the eclipse on Wednesday, Andy Burn’em was “busy” chairing a COBR meeting about the extreme heat and didn’t mention the cause of the extreme heat and wildfires once.

To those not already acting - get angry, get loud, join a group and fight for our collective future.

So join us Mama! Let’s do this for the sake of all children! 🩷💪

Can’t make it? Join the action from home by writing a personal letter to our Prime Minister about the impacts of heat! Comment ACTION below 🙌

Have you seen the reviews for this movie? 🎄🎁

We were blown away by how many people missed the sustainable themes in this Christmas rom-com, despite the dialogue being straight out of an environmentalist's handbook.

Check our bio for the full episode.
