Check out my review of Joe Cornick’s Steel: The Blood of Us by clicking the link in my bio.

Steel: The Blood of Us is a visual telling of the trials and triumphs of Port Talbot, a small Welsh shore town. The steel industry was formerly the mitochondria of this town, powering a community that still means so much to so many people. While the steel industry in Port Talbot has declined immensely, it remains a prominent reason so many people saw success over more than a century. [more...]

A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible — we genuinely could not have done it without our incredible cast and crew. Massive shoutout to my heads of department and key team: Kate, Anastasia, Joe, Laz, Nathan, Joshua, Dylan, and our composer James. And to our amazing cast — Cerys, Amelie, Shahla, Billy, Molly, Bill, Mark, Keri, John, James, Jess and my daughter Aaliyah — thank you for bringing everything to life. Huge thanks as well to our director John and co producer Justin (and honestly, the list keeps going). Thank you to East Sussex School of Circus Arts, Stacey, and everyone at Knockhatch Adventure Park — Colin, the family, and all the staff — for the support and belief. To our publishers Jacqui at Scorpius Books, our publicists Tom (UK) and Tracy (US) , all our marketing collaborations, and our distributors Linda and Michael at Indie Rights — plus our UK theatrical distributors Acting Moon, and especially Soo and Dom for working tirelessly to get us to Odeon, Lumiere, Phoenix, Savoy, Leigh, Hailsham Pavilion, Electric Cinema, Grove Eastbourne and beyond. And to all the local businesses who helped make this happen — Eastbourne Chamber, Catherine Lansdown Hotel, Emma at Lightning Fibre, Giannes and Alexsandra, Kevin at Olive Pine, Sarah and Donna at Switchplane and Julian at Wave Graphics — thank you for backing us. After five years, I’m hoping I can finally get a bit of rest… and apologies if I’ve missed anyone — please know your support has meant the world.

NEW FILM INTERVIEW - LINKS IN BIO: THE WITCHES OF POOL BOTTOM may be absurd, outrageous and wonderfully over-the-top, but beneath the laughter is a message that feels remarkably relevant.

Ava Bounds takes the insecurities so many young people carry—about acne, body size, hair, appearance and the impossible standards they encounter every day—and turns those fears into literal witches that her character, Rachel must confront.

What makes the film so effective is that Rachel doesn't ultimately defeat those parts of herself. She learns to embrace them. And in doing so, Ava Bounds delivers something far more meaningful than a conventional message about beauty.

Confidence isn't about becoming someone else; it's about accepting the person staring back at you in the mirror.

With its wild humor, outrageous imagery and unexpected heart, THE WITCHES OF POOL BOTTOM reminds us that our so-called imperfections don't need to be hidden or defeated.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is own them—and dance with them.

#Interview with Guy Trevellyan on new film Plastic Surgery

He is a film director who is having a lot of success with short film, Plastic Surgery, a film that highlights plastic pollution in an original way.
He has won Best Thriller at the Academy Award, had a sell-out screening at the Glasgow Frightfest and more...
The film is on plastics and taking them out of people.

We talk about the film's originality, the stella cast, setting up Nice Guy Pictures and its goals, his next film and more...

Let's give a warm welcome to Guy Trevellyan as we begin the interview...

What or who inspired you to become a Film Director from being an Assistant Director, learning from Wes Anderson, Greta Gerwig among others?

You’ve hit the nail on the head here! It was indeed directors like Wes, Greta and of course my childhood favourites like Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott. However, my main inspiration came from where I grew up near the Bourne Woods in Surrey. This became a popular film set ever since they shot the iconic Gladiator open battle sequence and I used to cycle to the woods after school with friends to watch whatever magical production was filming. This truly ignited a cinematic dream in me since I was a kid, and I’ve been chasing that ever since...

On a different surgery:

Highlighting plastic pollution is extremely important because it effects not only our natural world, marine life and mother nature, but also ourselves. Our health and future generations are affected by plastic waste and microplastics, seeping into our bodies through the food we eat, air we breathe, water we drink and even the clothes we wear! It’s important for people to know this, because it directly effects our lives and the lives of our children. It’s sadly reality that inspired the visual use of everyday plastic seeping from within our bodies, with the proof of microplastics inside us...

NEW FILM INTERVIEW - LINKS IN BIO: Ladies and gentlemen, Efosa Osaghae’s PHANTOM CAROUSEL is a sharp, unsettling look at what happens when survival and morality collide. Through one gig worker’s impossible choice, the film asks us to consider how far we might go when keeping a job means compromising our values—and what happens when the people doing the monitoring are just as vulnerable as the people being watched.

It’s a story about work, but also about power, dignity, parenthood, and the quiet compromises that can become part of simply trying to get by.
