POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Rockin’ B Standard // Rockin’ B Gundogs is a small, purpose-driven sporting kennel and community rooted in the great Garden State of New Jersey.
.
We believe in doing things a little differently. Our focus has never been on becoming the biggest kennel, producing the most puppies, or having the most dogs in training. Instead, we’re building something much more personal. A close-knit, private sporting community made up of good people, great dogs, and a shared love for the outdoors.
.
We work exclusively with British Labradors in our gundog program, following traditional British gundog training philosophies with roots dating back to the 1800s. Our approach is built around patience, steadiness, natural ability, and developing a dog that’s just as enjoyable in the home as it is in the duck blind.
.
Our breeding program is no different. With a maximum of three carefully planned litters each year, every pairing has a purpose. We place tremendous importance on health, temperament, proven hunting ability, and producing well-rounded companions that fit the families and sportsmen they go home with.
.
At Rockin’ B, exclusivity isn’t about status. It’s about standards. We won’t just work with anyone or sell a dog to anybody. We want to know our dogs, know our owners, and build relationships that last long after a puppy heads home or a dog finishes training. We want to hunt together, share stories, help one another become better handlers, and enjoy everything that comes with owning a good sporting dog.
.
We have no desire to be everything to everybody, and we’re perfectly content with that.
.
At the end of the day, success to us isn’t measured by the number of dogs we produce or the size of our business. It’s measured by the quality of our dogs, the people who stand behind them, and how much fun we’re having along the way.
.
That’s the Rockin’ B Standard.

THE FRIENDS IN A BLIND // There’s something about a cold winter morning in Kansas that’s hard to put into words. Frozen ground under your feet, breath hanging in the air, dogs shaking with anticipation, and a spread of decoys disappearing into the darkness.
.
Then the first flock starts moving and the waves start coming.
.
But years from now, I don’t think it’ll be the number of geese we killed that we remember most. It’ll be the people standing beside us when we did it.
.
The friends you make in a blind are unlike any other friends you’ll ever have. You freeze together, laugh together, give each other hell, miss birds you should’ve smacked, and talk up the shots you somehow made. You watch good dogs do what they were bred to do, share stories between flocks, and spend hours together with nothing else to do but eat, call, bullshit, and wait.
.
Somewhere along the way, hunting buddies become best friends.
.
A cold morning, a good dog, geese overhead, and your best friends beside you. There aren’t many things better than that.

OPENING DAY IS ALMOST HERE // The countdown is officially on at @dunwalke_preserve, and we’re not sure who’s more ready to get back in the field—the dogs or the handlers.
.
There’s nothing quite like opening morning. Cool air, good dogs, birds in front of the gun, and another season of watching all that off-season work come together.
.
The dogs are tuned up, the handlers are ready, and you can feel the excitement building around the kennel.
.
It’s almost time to cut ’em loose.
.
See you in the field.

In life, there are defining moments that show you the kind of person someone truly is—and the people they choose to stand behind. With that said, that brings us to Travis Henderson.
.
Travis has been a longtime friend of the Rockin’ B family, a hunting buddy, and someone who has always had our backs no matter what. He’s one of those guys you’d take to war with you without thinking twice. Friendships like that are few and far between.
.
Over the years, every time Travis hunted over Blazing Sammy, he’d always say the same thing: how much he wanted a puppy from her. After hearing it enough times, we finally told him that when the time was right, we’d have a puppy to put in his hands.
.
As fate would have it, when Sammy had her last litter, Travis was ready.
.
You could see the excitement in him from the moment the decision was made, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome Rockin’ B Six to the family.
.
This young girl will hopefully grow into an important part of our lineup of bitches in the years to come. But more than that, seeing the smile and joy she has already brought to a great friend is something special.
.
At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.
.
Nothing beats a Rockin’ B pup.

Steady to shot // Steady to wing, shot, and fall can be a big ask for a dog owner to maintain. We recommend at Rockin’ B Gundog’s that all pointers are at minimum stay to wing & shot. Having a dog steady, out of the shot window, and pointing a bird is what most people seek in a pointer when hunting.
.
A Rockin’ B dog is a gentleman’s best friend in the home & field.

It’s been a great few years past weeks of running dogs. Our summer hours are here…train in the AM, siesta in the afternoon, train in the PM & close up shop at 9-10pm!
.
Run the damn dog.

Momma Sammy // The week has finally come and we’re on puppy watch. This girl has been one special dog and soon to be the mother of over TWENTY Rockin’ B pups all over the US. Our little 45lb girl this season will be chasing birds with her puppies in Kansas, Texas, Missouri, New York, and Minnesota to celebrate retirement. Her due date is Friday, but we have a feeling we might see puppies a little earlier than planned!
