WILLIE WORKS‼️🟣⚪️

Our September Point of Pride is none other than William Hodgins! Willie has put in an incredible amount of intentional, consistent work this summer to launch into a huge fall training block - we could not be more proud! Excited to see how this invested time and continued improvement pay off in huge throws and growth this coming year! It has already produced some unofficial PRs in summer competition!

Well done, Willie! Keep pursuing more!

🟣‼️Throwers 4x100m Relay - 4/25/26‼️⚪️

Today’s UWW Throws Open the Vault takes us back this this spring’s Drake Alternative - our final home meet of 2026! Now just one month away from fall classes at UW-Whitewater, it’s time to take a glance back at a riveting race between the men and women of UWW Throws!

A wonderful job well done by our women (Jenna Wilkinson, Caitlin Zingsheim, Lou Matulenko, and Jeana Roscoe) and congratulations on a big win by the men (Landon Martin, Mason Baures, William Hodgins, and Peter Popp)! No shortage of fun, laughs, and great memories from this crew! Some steeple pit cooldown dives to cap off an awesome day as well! Please enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed the race!

PUMPED to get back to work for the 2026-27 campaign in just a few short weeks in what is shaping up to be an incredible year for the Warhawks!

Here we go, Hawks! 🟣⚪️

🟣2026 Warhawk Throws Summer Open II⚪️

A stellar Sunday for the 2026 Warhawk Throws Summer Open II! Thank you to all those who joined us to compete or cheer on the fun! Last year we less than 60 competitors between our TWO summer meets - at this meet alone we had 61 registered! Fantastic performances and just a great group of people across the board as well - it again shows how amazing the throws community in our region really is! Thank you for making it so special!

We hope you enjoyed your experience just as much as we did - grateful for time well spent chasing big throws with phenomenal people! A huge thanks to our terrific team of officials, volunteers, and Warhawk student-athletes for their support in making the day a success as well!

Full Results link available on our Story and Bio. Stay tuned for more throws and training opportunities to come at UW-Whitewater this academic year!

Go Warhawks! 🟣⚪️

As the sun sets on the final ETC overnight camp of the summer, and the 2026 camp season, I am so extremely grateful for all of the campers, parents, and coaches that make these camps so incredible. Allegheny has been our home for 10 years, the longest out of any other camp. This year was such a great camp and a great experience.
This was an older camp, with many 16 and 17 year olds and a few 18 year olds. It showed. There were some big throws. But there was also a nice maturity with the campers. Some were taking notes after each session. Some were recording the coaches instructions. There were great questions about college life and recruiting and what it takes to throw at the next level. It was a different vibe but so very cool to be a part of. To everyone who made Allegheny an amazing way to end camp season…THANK YOU!! I meant it when I said these camps are the highlight of my coaching career. #summercamp #trackandfield #shotput #discus #javelin

📍Elite Throws Camp Diary

📅DAY 3

We work from the ground up.

Walking focuses you to not rely on the momentum of moving to initiate the technical cues. It forces you to activate and manipulate the movements without the aid of motion.

You’ll see that we start to learn & feel the block by dropping off a little ledge, then flat, then walking movements, and so on.

For beginners it can be so nuanced, so keeping it simple and just setting them up for success is key.

🟣Warhawk Summer Throws Clinic 2026‼️⚪️

Sights and scenes from an incredible Warhawk Summer Throws Clinic in late June! A big kudos to the outstanding group of athletes we had join us for a full day of instruction, drilling, and technical progression - what an absolute blast guiding you all! The focused, intentional time you continue to put in is building toward some phenomenally sound throws next season! Very well done, keep up the great work! Excited to follow your ongoing growth and we hope to see you back next year!

A huge thank you again to our Warhawk Throwers Jenna, Mason, Lou, William, and Peter for sharing their wonderful insight and coaching with attendees! Excellent job giving back to those next in line!

Keep investing in your throw and good things will come competition time! Enjoy the rest of summer, throwers!

Go Warhawks!!! 🟣⚪️

Primary event brought us 10 javelin throwers!

We’ve been focusing much more on the feel of the block.

I remember over a decade ago, a coach that I was listening to saying that “the block” is one of the hardest skills to teach because everyone feels it differently, and you can’t feel what they’re feeling.

I’ve really been focusing on finding ways to incorporate the block and exaggerate it in a way that allows them to continue using it throughout our sessions, instead of learning it and then not being able to connect it to the overall throw. It’s definitely working!

More clips tomorrow…
