🌼🎶 The #BeyondBaroque Spring Festival Starts Now! 🎟️ earlymusicseattle.org/spring Don't miss this weekend of discovery that carries us “beyond” borders, traditions, and expectations. This festival’s journey unfolds through performances by the Twelfth Night Ensemble, pianist Patricia García Gil, and violinist Lindsey Strand-Polyak, alongside a rare opportunity to step inside the craft itself with a violin demonstration by master luthier Timothy Johnson. We invite you to immerse yourself fully in all this weekend's events – both educational and performative – and recognize with us that the intellect inspires the heart. Please also help us celebrate and value our partnerships with Seattle Art Museum and Frye Art Museum, and the opportunities to experience the arts collectively and collaboratively.

🌊 “The water understands Civilization well… Well used, it decketh joy, Adorneth, doubleth joy: Ill used, it will destroy” “Water” by Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 -1882) 🌎 The relationship between the natural world and humankind has been explored and celebrated in the arts for centuries. However, in Twelfth Night's program, Elemental, we experience a true sense of urgency and fragility. The environment has become, for many reasons, the most pressing concern of our times. It dominates political discourse, influences global behavioral shifts, and if not addressed, will precipitate our end. We are dependent on the natural world both physically and spiritually, inextricably joined. In ways that often appear willful, nature seems to mirror our intentions, good and bad; it can comfort and, just as easily, punish. Despite our shortcomings, the courageous way forward is hope, and through hope, action. 🌍 This #EarthDay, get your tickets to join us in this program of hope, beauty, and action! ➡️ earlymusicseattle.org/elemental [in bio] 📆 Sunday, May 3, 2:00 PM 📍 Town Hall Seattle

In the spirit of Baroque opera, @twelfthnightensemble's #Elemental program repurposes music from several countries and composers to explore the complex relationship between the natural world and humankind. Drawing from an opera form known as “pasticcio”, Elemental re-imagines selections plucked from the far reaches of the Baroque repertory to ask probing, relevant questions about our relationship with the natural world. Don't miss this concert of “fire and passion” (Boston Music Intelligencer), get your Sunday, May 3 tickets now ➡️ earlymusicseattle.org/elemental

On Sunday, May 3, Twelfth Night brings you into the spirit of Baroque opera with a performance drawn from the tradition of “pasticcio”, which featured freely adapted selections from several composers to set a new and exciting story! In Elemental, the ensemble has arranged a story in four parts: Adoration, Arrogance, Reckoning, and Hope. Each part outlines a chapter in an imagined, sweeping narrative as humans test the limits of their goodwill with nature. Get your tickets today!
