🚨COMMITMENT ALERT🚨

Congratulations to Jacob Krolick (@j_krolick27) on his commitment to Batten University!

Jacob has worked with us throughout the summer, where we successfully got his BB/9 down and K/9 up, as well as getting & keeping his arm healthy during a long season.

With his tall frame, our goal this winter will be to increase Jacob’s velocity and bodyweight so he can safely throw harder for longer. Having already been into the mid-8s this summer, I believe we can absolutely achieve this!

Super proud of my guy, he’s worked super hard up to this point and I anticipate he will work even harder now!

What makes a good arsenal?

In my opinion, movement quality and differentiation are two of the biggest factors when designing pitches. There is alot that goes into designing someone’s repertoire, but those are the two biggest factors for us. Of course, velocity is king, but aside from that, if a pitcher has 3 pitches that all have distinctly different movement profiles, and a fourth pitch that acts as a “moderator” (like a gyro slider or cutter), the hitter will have trouble tracking it out of the hand.

What we don’t want is for two pitches to have the exact same movement profiles.

For example, Matt’s fastball averages 18-20in IVB, with his changeup essentially averaging the same movement as his fastball.

This was also the toughest pitch for Matt to command. We tried a variety of changeup variations, each of which spitting out the same spin and movement as his fastball — just slower. This eventually lead us to a splitter, which finally features more HB than IVB.

And it’s nasty.

🚨COMMITMENT ALERT🚨

Congratulations to Matt LaSpina (@matt.laspina_) on his commitment to Hood College, where they CONTINUE to add stud 2027s from Long Island.

Matt started with us 2 months ago with some lingering issues after surgery, and has put all the work to combat those. As a utility player, he features 92+ EV and mid-8s on the mound, as well as great athleticism on defense.

Super proud of this guy. Going to be a huge winter for him! I can’t wait to see what his senior year brings, as well as what is waiting for him as a Blazer!

Got arm tightness? Stuck in the same endless cycle of throwing, feeling good, and feeling like crap the next day?

These are some of my go-to’s for those dealing with that exact issue.

If you’re not taking care of your arm, you’re leaving your career on the line.

Velo stuck? Arm always hurts? Command sucks? DM me! We’ll get it right.

🚨COMMITMENT ALERT🚨

Congratulations to Bailey Gelling (@bailey.gelling17) on his commitment to Hood College, adding to an already stacked 2027 class for them!

This summer, Bailey hit a new bullpen PR with us and was up to 86 in-game in July. This guy has the work ethic of a big leaguer and I’m so proud of him! Super excited to see his collegiate career through!

It’s going to be a HUGE winter for Bailey, as our goal is 88mph by the spring and to add 50+ pounds to all of his lifts.

JD Motes (@jd__motess) has been working his tail off!

He sat within 1mph of his PR for our entire bullpen last night. Long, slender athletic frame and a multisport athlete — he has a lot of room to grow!

I’m PUMPED to see what this winter brings for JD!

Congratulations to Nick Teriaco (@nick_teriaco13) on his commitment to 2022 Division III National Champion, Eastern Connecticut State University!

Nick started with us in the middle of June and hasn’t looked back, gaining an average of 4-6mph on his fastball, as well as 3mph on his top fastball.

ECSU got a hell of an arm, a worker and a competitor — I’m pumped to see what this next year of development brings for Nick!

Want your elbow to stop hurting?🦾

Simply put, elbow pain torments thousands of baseball players and overhead athletes. Many put a band-aid over it by strengthening the muscles of the forearm. ❤️‍🩹

You’re not getting to the root of the issue. Why not aim to fix the problem once-and-for-all? Why not strengthen the structures of the trunk (which is what overhead athletes primarily use to rotate and stabilize)? 🌳

Food for thought!

Your RTT Program is COOKED.🍳

At CBP, we use the Driveline Pulse combined with velocity tracking to ensure you’re progressively overloading your RTT properly.

Why?

For starters, John’s RPE at 180ft might be a 6/10, whereas Jimmy’s may be a 4/10. Why generalize it? Why not tailor the program to fit the athlete’s goals? After all, that’s what we’re taught in PT school 🤷‍♂️

So come try it out with us. Winter is coming — don’t miss out on the chance to be your best next year!
