When 5 Climb Tulsa members take down a 700 foot wall in Colorado along with a bunch of other rad hard routes.

Do we do it for the climbing…. for the friendship….for the fun……for the community. YES that is exactly why.

If you wanna learn more about climbing outside consider our transition to outdoor class or attend one of our outdoor climbing days at Horseshoe! Next one is November 14th!

“Mom, can I go in now?” 🥹
Parenting gives you this wild ability to hold so much gratitude and grief at the same time. Knox is beyond ready for this next adventure and I couldn’t be more proud of who he is and who he is becoming. Lots of tears are privately shed but more prayers than anything 🤍 Go let your light shine, buddy 😭

And Lindlee exudes joy in all that she does and jumped feet first into her new class! ☺️ She’s ready to make more friends, dance til she drops and learn anything & everything.

It has been hard to put the words on the gratitude i feel towards the 4 guys in these photos. We all love climbing, wanna climb hard, but also wanna do the best we can with this life we’ve been given. At age 42 having friends isn’t easy cuz you have to make time and American culture wants to steal all your time.

It’s also not widely popular to loudly discuss and pursue character, integrity, and faith anymore. Unfortunately these items have many times been redefined as subjective skews to one’s desired truth. Most people don’t word it that way but it’s very clear that American culture also celebrates endless lifestyles that destroy marriages, families, unity, and community.

Earlier this year I knew I wanted more likeminded camaraderie in my life to be intentional. So thankful for these 4 dudes joining me for a 6 month commitment of honesty, accountability, faith, and hard climbing. A month ago we climbed somewhere between 1200 and 1600 feet in Colorado. Pushing hard grades and big walls. We also spent 6 months growing closer to who we have been created to be and had a lot of valuable conversations.

We successfully climbed multiple variations of Trad Multi Pitch bottom to top on the 700 foot Davis Face, several great routes on Bob’s Rock and the Transmitter tower, and then finished off in Taylor Canyon farther west with some single and Multi Pitch Trad lines!

In pursuit of God’s purpose for each of our lives and a love for outdoor climbing…… I have extreme Gratitude.

Thanks guys for memories for a lifetime and some fantastic photos @nevo_3 @mark_a_thiel @ucaslexander @aproudmillennial

4th of July weekend ♥️ 🤍 💙
We went to a friend’s house to swim, experienced humidity beyond acceptable levels, ate our first dye free snow cone (LL was confused), scooted around Target, bought toys, and danced in the kitchen 🥰. Fireworks were stormed out for us but there’s always next year! KG was at cousin camp living his best life 🤘🏼

We’re completely blindsided and utterly devastated at the loss of our sweet Ember (pumpkin, fluffybutt, punk, gentle giant, horse). Today is a very sad day in our household, one that words can’t truly describe.

Ember was chaotic, full of life, *always there*, cuddly, a lover of all people, energetic, a couch potato, fluffy, loyal, protective, loving and our best friend. She was a gentle & loving presence to our kids since day one. The hole she is leaving in our hearts is a really big one. Unexpectedly losing both our pre-kid dogs within 6 months of each other has been a real gut punch 😭💔 let alone sharing the weight of this with the kids has been heeeeavy.

Squeeze your furry friends extra tight.

In 2021, after a year of driving by @llhtulsa every day, I heard a quiet voice say “look up” and when I listened, I found the best 3 1/2 years. I found healing, hope, joy, grace, and some of my favorite people. I am beyond thankful that God called me to LLH for the season that He did. I am thankful for the lessons I’ve learned, the deeper understanding, acceptance, and faith that grew in me, and the people that I got to do life with. I’m thankful for the weddings and babies we’ve celebrated, for the tears of mourning that we’ve shed together, and for the endless laughter. This place is one of the hardest goodbyes.

• Mini Laps 2025 •
We were blessed by the opportunity to cheer on some of the incredible victories of the students at LLH this past weekend. It’s such an intentional time to reflect on all that God has done in these children’s lives as a result of the staff and their beloved caretakers pouring out every ounce 😭

What a gift it is to witness these miracles. (And peep one of our favorites at the end 🥹)

From Monday morning to the end of Friday this week I worked 81 hours, on the clock holding cameras, roaming airports, editing videos, coordinating things, directing things. I think that’s illegal but not if you are doing the self employed thing it is normal.

I felt energized because I care about my job but I also felt tired.

Yesterday morning we made plans to volunteer at Little Light House as they had their annual event Mini Laps to celebrate the kids. (Thank you @georgialcanady for the Invite!) These kids wake up everyday working hard to breathe, to eat, to speak words, to even express themselves to those they love. They fight through near impossible diagnosis every second of everyday along side their parents staying alive and making progress. And true it is not fair, for those who have not realized yet life is not promised to be fair but God is still good amongst the injustice.

As I was volunteering with @taylergburks to greet people at the beginning and then to tear down chairs and stuff afterword I thought about the energy I have to give to this world and to others. It is a privilege. I write this today because I hope at-least 1 person reads it and has slightly more gratitude for the life God has given them. Maybe you just need some perspective to have gratitude, maybe you need to change where your energy goes, the environment you are in, maybe you need to connect with your creator again, maybe you need to volunteer at Little Light House. The one thing I know is God put us here to lift others up and if you have the ability to hold your phone and read the words I am writing then you have the ability to change other people’s lives for the better.

Everyone I know on this planet needs something so you don’t have to look hard to figure out that you were created to give to others.
