I get to work with the coolest kids on the planet, and today I’m asking you for a favor.

These kids and families? Straight-up incredible.

Little Light House does the work most people never even see, therapy, school, legit life-changing stuff, for kids with special needs, birth to six years old. The staff is obsessed with helping these families.

Our whole staff is locked in to raise money for them, so that means I am too.

No big speech. If you feel called to give, anything helps. Think about that monthly subscription you’re paying for that you don’t actually use, or skip the Starbucks coffee for a week and spend that money on something that changes lives.

It has been hard to put the words on the gratitude i feel towards the 4 guys in these photos. We all love climbing, wanna climb hard, but also wanna do the best we can with this life we’ve been given. At age 42 having friends isn’t easy cuz you have to make time and American culture wants to steal all your time.

It’s also not widely popular to loudly discuss and pursue character, integrity, and faith anymore. Unfortunately these items have many times been redefined as subjective skews to one’s desired truth. Most people don’t word it that way but it’s very clear that American culture also celebrates endless lifestyles that destroy marriages, families, unity, and community.

Earlier this year I knew I wanted more likeminded camaraderie in my life to be intentional. So thankful for these 4 dudes joining me for a 6 month commitment of honesty, accountability, faith, and hard climbing. A month ago we climbed somewhere between 1200 and 1600 feet in Colorado. Pushing hard grades and big walls. We also spent 6 months growing closer to who we have been created to be and had a lot of valuable conversations.

We successfully climbed multiple variations of Trad Multi Pitch bottom to top on the 700 foot Davis Face, several great routes on Bob’s Rock and the Transmitter tower, and then finished off in Taylor Canyon farther west with some single and Multi Pitch Trad lines!

In pursuit of God’s purpose for each of our lives and a love for outdoor climbing…… I have extreme Gratitude.

We’re completely blindsided and utterly devastated at the loss of our sweet Ember (pumpkin, fluffybutt, punk, gentle giant, horse). Today is a very sad day in our household, one that words can’t truly describe.

Ember was chaotic, full of life, *always there*, cuddly, a lover of all people, energetic, a couch potato, fluffy, loyal, protective, loving and our best friend. She was a gentle & loving presence to our kids since day one. The hole she is leaving in our hearts is a really big one. Unexpectedly losing both our pre-kid dogs within 6 months of each other has been a real gut punch 😭💔 let alone sharing the weight of this with the kids has been heeeeavy.

We said goodbye to our first fur baby today. We got Ember the second year of our marriage. She’s been there with us through each move, the ups and downs, having kids, and everything in between.
