Dvorak Piano Quintet in A major, Op. 81, Mvt. I

That's a wrap on TCMI year 3! This week was an unforgettable experience filled with some of the best people I've met.

Big thank you to my chamber group, @jonah.raychev , @jack.kodis , @v1olist , and @_jaden_0_2025 . I truly couldn't have asked for a better group of talented musicians to play this quintet with me, and I will forever be grateful for the dedication shown to understand this piece as well as we could (despite our multiple setbacks lol). You are each incredible people and musicians, and I consider myself lucky to have been able to share this week with you all.

Another big thanks to @texaschambermusicinstitute and all the faculty and staff for yet another incredible year, this camp has helped me grow so much as a musician and a person. I can't wait to see what adventures next year will bring :)

Day 1/100

Slide 1-
I have so much work I need to do on this piece…
(Phrasing, intonation, bow distribution, timing [I was not using sheet music so I may have miscounted some stuff] and many more issues to work out) but I’m very excited to start working on it more!

Slide 2 (do not watch 🫣)- I did some mirror practice with the intent of developing the habit of playing with a straight bow (the bow change didn’t work that time though 💔)

✨ Now THIS is how you strum into summer.

🎶 Throwing it back to this powerful performance of Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum” by five standout SPA musicians:

Carlie Tate – Grand Blanc Township, MI (16)
Clara Thomas – Lighthouse Point, FL (16)
Osiel Cárdenas – Denton, TX (16)
Alejandro Quintero Cashore – East Greenwich, RI (16)
Ethan Abrahams-Nhliziyo – Houston, TX (14)

This is what the future of chamber music sounds like.
