Congratulations to our 3rd Place HBCUniverse x National Black Movie Association - Creators Lab Winner, Atakora Yeboah of Grambling State University! 🏆🎥

With DaSoulFood, @atakora_yeboah_ puts local business in the spotlight through a creative campaign that brings together mouthwatering food visuals, a conversation with the restaurant owner, and the story behind the business.

From highlighting signature dishes to exploring the relationships and inspiration that keep a business going, this project shows how powerful video storytelling can be in helping local entrepreneurs connect with their communities.

Because every great business has a story worth telling. 🔥

We’re proud to recognize Atakora and the HBCU creatives using their skills to amplify the businesses and communities around them.

A special thank-you to the National Black Movie Association for sponsoring the HBCUniverse Creators Lab / #ReelHBCU and supporting emerging storytellers.

Give it up for our 2nd Place HBCUniverse x National Black Movie Association - Creators Lab Winners! 🎬👏🏾

Featuring students of Florida A&M University, Meet Me at Olean’s celebrates one of the community’s longtime favorites: Olean’s Cafe, a nearly 30-year staple located across from FAMU.

The campaign goes beyond the food to capture what makes Olean’s special - a place where students, alumni, faculty, and the Tallahassee community come together over homemade meals and shared FAMU traditions.

Shoutout to the talented team behind the project:

🎬 Written, produced, directed & edited by Olajumoke Oni
📹 Videography by Kyrease Desseau
🎭 Featuring Dante Hall, Jayden Sautman, Allen Brown, and Jaiel Joseph

This is storytelling rooted in community, culture, and the places that make the HBCU experience unforgettable. 🐍

Thank you to the National Black Movie Association for sponsoring our HBCUniverse Creators Lab / #ReelHBCU and investing in the next generation of creative talent!

Third year in a row partnering on the MD Student Startup Networking Dinner, and it was a great night. I had the honor of representing Venture For T.H.E.M. and Majestic Light Group alongside the Mace Foundation and the Pava Marie LaPere Center. Big shoutout to Michael O. for leading this and to the student founders, mentors, and partners who showed up.

As we ran this, something stood out to me. There aren't many brothers in the region doing this kind of work. I want to see more of us in these rooms, building the pipeline and keeping Maryland's student founders here at home.

If you've been thinking about getting involved as a mentor, sponsor, or organizer, this is your sign. Come build with us.

Classrooms are still running on tools built a decade before the students in them. Tech in the Hut #5 is bringing in the people actually closing that gap.

Fireside chat with Joseph Thibault, founder & CEO of Cursive Technologies (acquired by Blackboard) on what it takes to build something schools actually adopt. Moderated by Brian Carlson, co-founder & CEO of Storytime AI.

📍 NOLA Seafood & Spirits
🗓️ Oct 27 | 6-8PM

Pull up if you’re building in edtech, teaching in a classroom, or just think students deserve better tools. Bring a friend.

RSVP link in bio & comments.

Packed house for the Maryland Startup Networking dinner!

Student founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, and business leaders from across Maryland joined for an evening of networking, mentorship, food, and startup celebration.

The event featured a 60-Second Lightning Pitch Competition, where six student entrepreneurs received a $100 business micro-grant to support their ventures! 🚀

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as an HBCUniverse 30 Under 30 Honoree in the Business and Corporate Impact category! Representing @morehouse1867 in this cohort is both an honor and a reminder of the power of HBCUs to cultivate leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

The HBCUniverse 30 Under 30 program highlights young leaders across industries who are shaping the future and carrying forward the legacy of excellence rooted in HBCU culture. Being part of this class is more than recognition - it’s an opportunity to join a community dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and impact.

To learn more about the program and follow along with my fellow honorees, I encourage you to connect @hbcuniverse.summit and @venture4them. Together, we’re building a network that ensures the next generation of HBCU talent is seen, supported, and celebrated!

God did it again!!!

I’m proud to share that I’ve been named to HBCUniverse’s 30 Under 30 list in Campus & Collegiate Excellence! ✨

Representing the University of the District of Columbia means so much to me. This honor reflects the work, growth, and purpose behind my journey and the family, mentors, friends, and community who have supported me along the way.

Thank you, HBCUniverse, for this recognition. I’m carrying UDC with pride and making my people proud. This is another chapter in the legacy I’m building. 💙

Built with Charm #3 was my stage last night, and I'm still buzzing about it.

Baltimore Tech Meetup brought the room together for builders, makers, and innovators, and it's one of my favorite tech events in the city. Everyone shows up with something they're working on, so you leave with a new idea or a new connection. I was grateful to show App 42 there, with 8 to go in the 50 Apps Challenge.

Thank you, Cornelius Hariston, for letting me into your space, and to 4MLK for opening the venue to the Tech Meetup.
