Had a blast attending #ThrillsAndChills26 hosted by Team Tandem @tandemcollectiveuk and @whatlexysaid 📕🔪🍿

The highlight for me has to be that interview (if you can call it that 🤪😆) with @andy.maslen and Tuna Panini - oops, I mean @tmpayneauthor - I’m still laughing about it now.

The evening introduced me to @authorhannahellis, so I’ve ordered ‘Death By The Sea’ (the cat on the cover sold it to me) and pre-ordered ‘Trouble At High Tide’, both of which are part of her ‘Misfit Detective Series’ 🕵🏼‍♀️

I’ve also pre-ordered one of my favourite thriller authors’ upcoming releases ‘Warm Bodies’ and ‘I’m Not Done With You’ by @johnmarrs.author ✍🏻

Thanks for a thrilling evening, Team Tandem 🧡

Book 111: A review for the #JohnMarrsBookClub with @tandemcollectiveuk next, #AStrangerInHerHouse by @johnmarrs.author @amazonpublishing

📖 SYNOPSIS 📖 Paul’s just here to help, sent by a charity for vulnerable people to do odd jobs for elderly widow Gwen. But for Gwen’s daughter Connie, there’s just something about Paul that rings alarm bells from day one. The last thing Connie wants is a stranger meddling in the safe routine she’s built around Gwen. By the time he conveniently finds himself between homes and has no choice but to move in, Connie is certain he’s trying to push her out completely. It’s her word against his, though, and as her attempts to unmask him become ever more desperate she’s not the only one left wondering if she’s lost her grip on reality. But when events start spiralling rapidly out of her control, should Connie wage all-out war on Paul and risk losing Gwen forever?

📚MY THOUGHTS📚⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5) Wow, what a rollercoaster of emotions this one was! I literally couldn’t put this down as the pages turned and the story developed in so many different ways.

It is a really difficult book to review on the basis that the twists and turns the story takes means this is a title you really should go into blind, the writing fully immersing the reader and building the character relationships.

I totally wasn’t expecting the major twist approximately halfway through, so much so that I had to read back a few chapters to ensure I hadn’t missed anything - bravo John that was so cleverly plotted, I hadn’t seen that coming at all - sorry no spoilers!

Being told predominantly from Connie’s POV was captivating for me, you really became invested with what she was thinking and how she needed to solve the problems, leaning in to raising the importance of issues surrounding caring for people with dementia.

I’m thoroughly enjoying discovering more of John’s writing, he definitely has a talent to provide the unexpected and I am so here for that!

Crafting for All Occasions is filled with fun, step-by-step activities & we got to try some! @crafterscompanion kindly gave us all the tools we needed. 💅 Claws out at the #TandemWeekender26 !

This was definitely one of the most glamorous proof drops of the weekend 💅🏼

To celebrate Claws Out by @mackie_bella we were challenged to decorate our own nail art inspired bookmarks (or decorate the book front cover) and of course a little colour and sparkle were required✨

I’m not sure that I will be opening a nail salon anytime soon haha but I was rather pleased with my finished creation! 😂 Now I am looking forward to discovering what secrets, schemes and sharp edges are waiting inside this one…
