Your ankles survived Part 1? Time to level up. 🦶🏽🔥

Ankle Instability Rehab — Part 2 🏋🏽‍♂️

It’s time to continue challenging your ankles with more dynamic stability, single-leg strength, coordination, and control under load! 💪🏽

Remember, ankle rehab is MORE than just Theraband exercises, calf raises, and balancing on one leg.

Your ankles need to learn how to stabilize, react, and control movement under different loads and in multiple directions, especially if you’re trying to return to lifting, running, or sports.

These exercises are designed to challenge your stability while building strength and confidence through more demanding movements.

⚠️ But don’t rush the progression! Ankle injuries and instability aren’t one-size-fits-all. Just because an exercise looks doable doesn’t mean you’re ready for it. Get assessed by a physical therapist to ensure these movements are safe and appropriate for your specific injury and stage of recovery.

The goal isn’t just to have stronger ankles. It’s to have ankles that can handle whatever you throw at them! 🔥

📲 DM us to book your initial consultation at our Midtown location or at Archon Gym (Archon members only).

Are your ankles cooked chat?🦶🏽🔥 Let’s fix that!

Ankle Instability Rehab — Part 1 💪🏽

Ankle rehab is MORE than just heel raises and the same old Theraband ankle 4-way exercises. 😅

While those exercises can have their place, your ankles need to learn how to handle weight-bearing movements, dynamic balance, strength, and stability to prepare you for everyday activities and eventually get you back to the gym or your favorite sport. 🏋🏽‍♂️

These are a few slightly advanced beginner-friendly exercises that challenge your ankle stability while helping you build strength, control, and confidence through functional movements.

⚠️ Remember: Not all ankle injuries or causes of instability are the same! Before starting or progressing your rehab, get assessed by a physical therapist to ensure these exercises are safe and appropriate for your specific injury and stage of recovery.

Don’t just strengthen your ankles. Teach them how to handle movement! 🔥

Meniscus Rehab Part 2 🦵🏽 — Time to turn it up a little. 📈

If you’ve progressed past the beginner stages of non-operative meniscus rehab, it may be time to start challenging the knee with more single-leg strength, stability, control, and increased loading. 🏋🏽‍♂️

These exercises should feel challenging, but work within a pain-free depth and range of motion that you can control. As your knee tolerates more, you can gradually progress the range, resistance, and difficulty.

⚠️ Remember: knee pain and meniscus injuries aren’t one-size-fits-all. Before progressing your rehab, get assessed by a physical therapist to make sure you’re ready for this level and that these exercises are safe and appropriate for your specific diagnosis.

Don’t rush the progression. Build capacity, earn the range, and keep moving. 💪🏽

Meniscus pain doesn’t always mean you have to stop moving. 🦵🏽🏋🏽‍♂️

These are a few beginner, early-stage movements that may be appropriate when you’re first dealing with meniscus-related knee pain and want to gradually get your knee moving and working again.

The goal early on is to find movements you can tolerate while beginning to rebuild mobility, strength, control, and tolerance to load; then progress from there. 💪

⚠️ Knee pain can be tricky. Not every meniscus injury or every person with knee pain should be treated the same way. Your symptoms, diagnosis, and stage of recovery all matter.

Getting assessed by a physical therapist can help determine what’s contributing to your symptoms and whether these exercises are appropriate for you.

The goal isn’t always to stop moving, it’s to find the right way to keep moving.

The goal isn’t just to move well now—it’s to KEEP moving well. 🏋🏽‍♂️

As I get older, mobility work has become less about trying to be “flexible” and more about maintaining strength, control, and movement through the ranges my body should have.

These are a few movements I like to throw into my routine to keep my hips, shoulders, and spine moving and prepare my body for the things I actually enjoy doing.

What you do in your 30s can help set the foundation for how you move in your 40s, 50s, and beyond. 💪

Move now so you can keep moving later.
