ah @sonarfestival the annual pilgrimage <3

I was summoned to my beloved Barcelona to discover: “How Sónar Festival’s Global Curation Is Built For Musically Adventurous Travellers” for @trippin.world 🌍

For this piece I spoke to Lee Gamble, Candela Capitán, Olof Dreijer, Diva Cruz, TORO collective (softchaos, Engalanan & Wicboyx) – along with some of the sickest festival curators Ikram at sónar, Edoardo from Nuits Sonores & Anastasios of Reworks – to hear their unique perspectives on connecting the dots between hyperlocal scenes and future-proofing festival culture through meaningful collaborations between international locations. 🗣

This is a snapshot of the participants in @timesmovement a new EU-backed project, 10x European festivals dedicated to electronic music & visual arts –working together on v-special co-commissioned shows, focussed on diversity issues within the sector, movements of migrant people and reconceptualising borders 🇪🇺

Link-in-bio to read + I also took some Polaroids. 🫧📶

Shouts to Paul, Clarisse, Lexa, Modern Matters – & anyone else who helped out on this 🔊

We would like to do a little celebration of our amazing Softer Digital Futures program ❤️‍🔥

One month after our event, we are still in awe of all the knowledge, insights and visions you shared with us – it has truly seeded new ideas, directions and dreams, and inspired us to keep working for softer futures in technology and beyond.

Thank you @stina.thue for reconnecting us with our bodies and creating a tender space for us to get to know each-other and learn together.

Thank you @annekatrineraahede for hosting our program and for writing an introduction speech that left us speechless.

Thank you @maiathecyberwitch , Alice @deemjournal, Majken @c_art_tech and @aliceyuanzhang for opening our program in the best way possible, sharing so much valuable knowledge and creating a solid foundation for the day. Thank you @tinaryoon for moderating and supporting our vision!

Thank you @princessjazmin_art for the beautiful and clever talk, for being brave and stubborn in doing things your way and for introducing us to your pockets of protopia.

Thank you @aliceyuanzhang and @virtualcarelab for helping us put words on how to develop collective agency in the futures of technology – for giving us agency to take part in this important but difficult conversation.

Thank you @pitch_studios for sharing your philosophies and methodologies with us and for inviting us into your creative processes and your beautiful virtual worlds.

Last but least, thank you to our Share Your Practice panel @rifke.world , @annyversary, @doubleup.studio , @christiechristie___ and @princessjazmin_art for being honest, transparent and sharing your experiences with us. Thank you for creating a safe space where the audience felt invited to participate in a conversation that could have continued forever!

This is only the beginning, we cannot wait to continue these conversations with you and to see you all again 💘
