⭐️New Coach alert⭐️

Elevate Crew CrossFit welcomes Coach Christina Colvin!!

Christina has been coaching CrossFit since 2013 and earned her CrossFit Level 4 Coach certification in June 2026. Over the years, she has coached athletes of all ages and experience levels and has also worked in gym management and coach development. A lifelong learner, Christina is passionate about continuing to grow as a coach, with the long-term goal of joining CrossFit Seminar Staff while continuing to coach within her local affiliate community.

For Christina, coaching is about much more than improving fitness. She loves helping people recognize their own potential and accomplish things they once thought were out of reach. She believes that the confidence built inside the gym has a way of spilling over into every other area of life. If she can help someone believe in themselves a little more, she considers that a job well done.

Outside of coaching, Christina loves training and competing in CrossFit herself and enjoys the challenge of continuing to grow as an athlete. She is a military spouse to her husband, Chris, of 14 years and mom to Nolan (7) and Ellie (3). She also spends four days a week teaching an energetic class of two-year-olds at her daughter’s preschool. When she isn’t coaching, teaching, training, or competing, you’ll probably find her hiking, running, spending time with friends and family, listening to country music, watching a crime drama, trying a new local restaurant, learning about wine—or finding her next cup of coffee. (There is never too much coffee.)

Everyone has advice when the big moment gets close.

Suddenly there are opinions everywhere about what you should change, add, fix or do differently.

Before you let someone into your head, ask yourself: Where were they for the last 365 days?

Good coaching isn’t just knowing the sport. It’s knowing the athlete...their strengths, weaknesses, habits, confidence, tendencies, and everything that got them to this point.

My athletes know where I’ve been…right beside them.

That doesn’t mean I always have the only answer or even the best answer. But it does mean my advice comes with context & trust built over hundreds of days, not just the final few.

Listen to advice. Consider it. But choose carefully who gets a voice in your head when it matters most.

Trust is built long before competition day arrives.

Tag someone who has been in your corner long before the big moment!

Scaling isn’t failing!!

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do in training is take a step back so you can keep moving forward.

Use a lighter weight, modify the movement, or cut the reps. It doesn’t mean you’re doing less, it means you are doing what YOU need to do to get better!

The goal is always to get the right stimulus, move well, build capacity, and keep progressing. Some days you push the limit, some days you adjust the dose, but BOTH are training!

Train smart. Work hard. Keep showing up! And if you know someone who needs to hear this please share it with them.

See you in the gym!

Most athletes think they’re getting better simply because training feels harder.

That’s not how improvement works.

Doing more reps doesn’t automatically make you fitter.
Doing harder workouts doesn’t automatically make you fitter.
Doing more volume doesn’t automatically make you fitter.

What matters is the quality of the work you’re repeating.

Every rep teaches your body something.

If your movement is efficient, you’re building good habits.
If your movement falls apart and you keep going anyway, you’re practicing mistakes.

That’s why the best athletes don’t just chase fatigue…

They chase consistency.
They chase efficiency.
They chase repeatability.

Because they understand something that most people miss:
Good reps compound…but so so bad reps!

The athlete who spends years practicing quality movement almost always beats the athlete who simply accumulates the most sweat.

Train with purpose.

Every rep has a purpose.
Every workout has a purpose.
Every training day has a purpose.

Don’t ask yourself: “How tired can I get today?”
Ask yourself: “What am I trying to improve today?”
That one question will change the way you train and think!
—
What are you trying to improve today? I’d love to hear it. 👇
