A whole fun filled weekend and these were the only pictures we managed! 😆 🤦‍♀️
Honestly, I think we were all just too busy being in the moment- which is just fine with this Mama. 🥰 From riding all the water slides and splashing in the wave pool at Kalahari Water Park, to playing in the arcade, to card games, yummy food, and belly laughs- we all had a wonderful time!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered support and condolences about Autzen. 🪽 We are so blessed to have such a loving tribe.

I don’t think anyone is ever really ready for the loss of a pet- no matter when or how it happens.

A few weeks ago, I took Autzen in to the vet because he had not been acting like himself for several days. Almost immediately, the vet noticed his lymph nodes were extremely swollen and became very concerned. She ordered several tests, including a lymph node biopsy.

When the results came back a week later, our worst fears were realized: Autzen had an aggressive form of lymphoma, for which there was no cure.

The following Monday, we put him on steroids in the hopes that he could have increased appetite, decreased inflammation, and an overall better quality of life for at least 30-60 days.

Unfortunately, the steroids did not take, and every passing day, Autzen became more of a shell of himself. Despite trying to hang on for me…. For us…. The cancer had spread to his organs and likely his bone marrow, putting him in extreme discomfort and robbing him of the life he deserved.

On Thursday I knew…. I knew he was telling me it was time, and I gave him his last “ok” command- I told him I would be ok- he didn’t have to fight for me anymore.

Friday, August 28, a kind vet came to our home and helped us through the hardest decision we have ever had to make. Autzen passed away peacefully, in his home, surrounded by all of his family. 🌈

All of us are heartbroken, grieving, and processing in our own ways. We are leaning on each other, the support of our friends and family, and, of course, our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have just been picturing Autzen licking Jesus’ face and making Him smile with his Jack antics. 😇

I’m sure this is the first of many posts, as I grieve in my way. I am enjoying collecting all the pictures and videos and remmebering our 12 wonderful years together. Autzen was my heart dog and I don’t even have the words right now to say everything I loved about him.

A part of me crossed over yesterday, and a part of Autzen will always live in my heart. 💙 by @xtinadouble07

Happy 12th Birthday, Autzen! You are the best little buddy this Mama could ask for. 💙
We picked you right out of the litter and never looked back. You have lived with us now in 5 different states and helped us welcome our two amazing children. You give the best kisses and always make everyone laugh. You supported Chris through medical school and me through learning and chasing a new career. Together we hiked mountains, ran 5Ks, made friends, learned tricks and tried our hand at agility. And no matter what- without fail-you are always there to lick my face and lift my spirits- even on the darkest days…. Because that’s how dog’s love…❤️
I love you, Autzen. I have recently learned that we may not have many days left together— but I sure as heck want to soak up each one. by @xtinadouble07

My little athlete got back in the saddle today and jumped right into practice at our new gym here in Abilene. I was very proud of him for working hard, being coachable, and putting himself out there to make new friends. We miss our VGA family very much, but we are excited to join the team here at @abilenegsc ☺️

A piece of my heart will always live at the Oregon Coast 🌊💙

Now, our children are getting to build that connection for themselves, and I am so grateful. It is fun and beautiful to watch. 🤗

Oregon Beach Trip 2026 is in the books, and although I’m sad to leave, we are heading back to Portland and then on to Texas with many cherished memories.

Vegas…. Ahhhh this past week I have been struggling to find the words… and honestly, I still feel like I do not have them.

I went from “You can’t get me out of here fast enough” to building one of the strongest support systems I have ever known in less than 3 years. The people I’ve met here have truly made this place feel like home and have given me more than words can say.

Coming here, I had no idea just how much growing I had left to do in my mid to late 30s, but just like everywhere I have been, God used Las Vegas in ways I least expected to shape me, mold me and refine me in order to get me a little closer to the woman he has called me to be. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone here who has poured into me, my husband and my littles these past three years. This community has forever changed me for the better, and I am leaving here with many life-long friendships and even more life long values. I will miss you all more than I can say, but I know my family and I are being called on to our next adventure, where more lessons and beauty await. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon ❤️
