*:･ﾟ✧ｍａｌｌ　ｄｒｅａｍｓ*：.✧

Midweek madness getting you down? Slip away into a mystical indoor land where warm light glows through glass and kind, smiling people offer their luxury merchandise. It’s pay day and a new purchase, scattered palms, and light ambient chatter reassure of your place in this world among man, objects, and nature. You’re at the mall; life is good.

Happy birthday to partner on acct @linelaundering! This ones for you, my fellow lover of hidden histories and old worlds.

Special thanks to @y2kaesthetic for sourcing these sparkly mall images on your Tumblr/

Inktober Day 5: Map

No elaborate write up for this one.

This whole year I’ve been going down the Y2K aesthetic rabbit hole in preparation for a personal project so I really wanted to take a stab at designing a blobject for today’s prompt.

Whimsigothic — An aesthetic movement from the mid-80s to mid-90s blending elements of gothic architecture and decor with visual cues related to magic and witchcraft and associated symbology. “Some definite Baroque, Rococo, and Art Nouveau influence as well, it's a postmodern mélange of styles.” - Evan Collins, CARI

We’ve been deep diving into the CARI (Consumer Aesthetics Research Institute) aesthetics archive on @aredotna — an associate project of our favorite @y2kaesthetic. Visual research is an integral part of our @pinkessay archive of New Radical Design and this research helps us to better understand design culture past, present, & future 🌐
