PULSAIRA begins here.

I have photographed women for many years.
But this project is about more than a portrait.

PULSAIRA is a black & white portrait project about women — their faces, their stories, their strength, their vulnerability, and everything that exists beyond the roles we carry every day.

100 women. 100 portraits. 100 stories.

No need to perform.
No need to be perfect.
No need to become someone else in front of the camera.

I want to photograph the woman who remains when we put expectations aside.

And perhaps the most important question behind this project is:

Who are you when no one expects anything from you?

I think it’s only right that this story begins with me.

Woman 001 — Dana.

Welcome to PULSAIRA.
Women, as they are.

30s are the new 20s, but with better decisions. Sometimes 😂

When you need a vacation after your vacation… because you went with kids 😂

Mallorca was basically:
new hotel every 1–2 days,
driving across the island,
finding new beaches,
buying more stuff every day because apparently we came completely unprepared,
pool → sea → pool → sea,
diving, jumping, snorkeling,
beach volleyball,
water games on repeat,
playgrounds and trampolines EVERY evening,
ice cream breaks in between,
trying to get the kids out of the water before sunset,
chasing a total solar eclipse,
almost sinking on a boat 🫠

and somehow still trying to call this a “relaxing family holiday.”

Did we sit still? No.
Did we rest? Questionable.
Would I do it all again? Absolutely 😂

Mallorca, you were a LOT 🤍

And the craziest part?

While we were trying to reach the shore, Mallorca went into totality.

Everything around us became completely dark.

This was supposed to be the magical moment we had been waiting for…

but instead, we were in the middle of the sea, on a boat taking on water, just hoping we would make it back safely.

Honestly, it’s hard to describe what each of us felt in that moment.

We never really saw the totality we came for.

And it’s scary to think about what could have happened if the boat had actually gone down in the open sea.

So we decided to call this day our second birthday.

Because in the end, the only thing that really matters is that all six of us made it back safely.

And for that, I’m incredibly grateful. 🤍
