Sharing some moments from Weighty Matter(s), developed for YDP’s Bubbling festival at the height of summer. For the workshop, Yoojin Lee @nijooyl and I compost-dyed reclaimed fabrics to produce over 80 soft weights. Participants engaged with these compost- and debris-filled weights, exploring different forms of bearing, pressing and releasing, and attending to the embodied and relational effects that emerged.

$This Week… THURS 27/08/26 Ahead of Carnival weekend, Ormside hosts a double bill of @ibrahimalfajunior and @_feeo_. Marking his first UK show in a decade, Alfa delivers fractured pulses and bass-heavy experiments. Producer and vocalist feeo performs a new solo show – moving across shifting songform and static hum. Performances are framed by a rotating film programme curated by Phoebe Beckett Chingono (@zvicha_) which explores the convergence of black experience and digital media. 19:30-23:30 FRI 28/08/26 @nightslugs and @100einhundert return to Ormside for their 3rd annual pre-Carnival party. Bringing together two defining club institutions, the vital Berlin-London link-up delivers a lineup built strictly for the dancefloor. Sets from @ohjeelo, @sylvere__ , @rabzlan, @lil_clart, @fiyahdred, and @d3nim, alongside foundational sets from @nightslugs and @100einhundert label heads @dj__bok and @nicoadomako. 23:00-06:00 SAT 29/08/26 Southwark Park’s @rally.rally.rally returns, and with it comes the customary Ormside after party – this year hosted in collaboration with south-London label @scenic____route. Presenting DJ sets from Montreal duo @jumpsource (@priori_tize and @ppatrickholland), London’s @spiritbluespiritbluespiritblue, and a b3b from Scenic Route’s @thredd121. Rounding out the lineup with NTS resident @noanunoparty and @scenic____route reps @404.eros. 23:00-05:00 SUN 30/08/26 @clubyeke returns to Ormside on the bank holiday Sunday for a Notting Hill Carnival afterparty. With a focus on platforming artists and local heroes from across the Caribbean islands, the evening sees representation from Trinidad, Jamaica, Martinique, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Curaçao. Alongside hosts @tashlc and @rozaly.music, welcoming DJ sets from @boutchabwa, DJ Say Less and @djcuepid_, as well as a live set from @d_opss. 22:30-04:30$
