Happy ocean day today and every day💙

At TAKATA we care about the environment and believe in actively working to protect it. We use diving to promote coastal marine biodiversity. With the Mahahual’s Coral Restoration Program, we have already restored 4,000m2 of coral reef and we will restore 10,000m2 by 2026.🪸

Oh, and we also happen to provide fun and educational courses, which result in amazing community!

The ocean does not need saviors. It needs allies.

At MARES Center and Takata Experience, we work to restore the coral reef ecosystems of Mahahual through science, community engagement and direct action. From coral nurseries to sea turtle monitoring, our efforts are rooted in care, education, collaboration, and long-term impact.

We believe in conservation that’s local, inclusive, and deeply connected to the people and the ecosystems that surround us. We dive not only to study but to heal coral by coral, turtle by turtle, breath by breath.

Most instructor courses in Quintana Roo are built to process as many candidates as possible. Ours isn’t. What an unforgettable two weeks with the GoEco teen crew! 🌊

From diving courses and fun dives to expedition trips ending with fresh homemade ceviche, they jumped headfirst into everything ocean and conservation.
Together, we explored Mayan ruins, got hands-on with coastal dune restoration, dove into coral monitoring and restoration activities, and toured our marine labs to see conservation in action. 🪸🌱

To the GoEco crew: thank you for your incredible spirit and trust. We’re going to miss your energy around Takata & MARES! Until next time! 💙🤿
