One day, I'm going to write a romantasy with a Bengali-coded princess in a saree (শাড়ি - sharee), who loves her books (বই - boi), and tea (চা -cha) without spice. And it will heal a little part of me. Until then, I'll just have to play dress up...

Meet Jahanara.

After 20 years she’s stepped back onto Bangladeshi soil, but she’s just trying to complete her duties and move on with life. This task has been made difficult by a daughter that’s been whining since she booked these tickets. Maybe it’s a good distraction. A distraction from how she feels about her mother dying.

If you want to find out more about Jahanara then make sure you watch I Hear Humming at Brady Arts Centre on the 19th and 20th November🇧🇩

In a way, the sun is also an eldest daughter. Constantly burning to brighten
All the lives that revolve around her.
A day without her would leave the world dead.

The moon then must be the second-born
The one shaped in her image, living
A full life, from crescent smiles to new
Adventures, memories permanent as crater,
The shadow that follows, like night after day.

Girlies, same time in 2 years?

Okay, but it was so fun to be a football girlie for the last month. Genuinely believing I know more about tactics than Thomad Tuchel and being the office celebrity becasue we braved the 2am at Azteca, and finally learning who Haaaland is (Hallingam 🫶). But now back to the normal programming. Until the Euros when football is definitely coming home.
