Part 2. 🏆🏆🏆 @theutahfilmfestival
This year I had the opportunity of Executive Producing, co writing , directing and acting in a beautiful pitch that was brought to me by theayeshahrose . My incredible team and I turned this into a television pilot/ Feature Narrative :, “ The Ballad of the Bushmare .” @balladofthebushmare
To say that it has been a labor of love is the closest phrase I can think of. My greatest love in life is my children… I endured labor with both of them… it was tough at times but I knew that on the other side was the most precious gift. I would say that this pilot has felt similarly. So much blood, sweat, tears, time , cost, dedication, work, love of film/ westerns/ indies/ asking for favors on and on …went into this one… however ..I knew that on the other side of the WORK was an incredible piece of living art that would transform and help others in many ways including their journey of finding peace/home within themself.
Thank you @theutahfilmfestival for “seeing” us. My dream was to have our world premiere be in Utah where we filmed the majority of our pilot. That dream came true thanks to you @theutahfilmfestival . cherries on top for nominating us in 5 categories 🙏🫶🫶🫶
and honoring us to take home 3 of those nominations.
Thank you to our incredible team that came together with a resounding yes and helped bring this beautiful tale to life. ❤️🎥🥹🤠
I am in so much awe and gratitude…forever.

Best western 🏆
Best Supporting Actor : @spencergarrett1
Best Feature Narrative 🏆

I am,
Forever grateful,
JNico ❤️🫶🎥

I had the opportunity of going to an early screening of one of @harborfund latest films that they are apart of … @byanymeansmovie ! My take away is that it’s profound and a really important film to see. At the core of @harborfund they are a 501c3 that is making waves in being apart of films that are in part of the larger life impact… I really feel this one does that. Thank you @baldmansam for introducing me to such an incredible cause ! Bravo @elegancebratton on your impeccable direction !

I could not stop crying and thinking of the people I love including @corene.lavhan ! I am inspired and moved !

I decided to make this a post because this is the part that all actors - artists - entrepreneurs-people who are working really freaking hard can relate to, yet nobody sees what’s behind the closed very small bathroom door of our life. It does not matter if we are traveling with portable audition supplies that do not work how they were promised to, it definitely does not matter how tired we are .. and deadlines don’t wait for us to take a shower.. this post is for US. 12:45AM not PM like I stated in my first delirious comment. We have to get the audition in because if we don’t then .. we have NO work instead of a 1 in 1,000 chance of work. Andddd GOD bless our supporters!!!! In this case, my mother Karen, ( love her ) who stayed up to read with me until 1:30am ( BLESS HER )! Being an artist or entrepreneur is not for the faint at heart but we keep going because life without it is not an option for us !
So, cheers to us artists and our supporters and our haters and everyone in between. Maybe some don’t understand this life maybe this post will help them understand or at least laugh with me. We MUST keep laughing ! Ok… I will let you know if I booked it. Yes, my pants are rolled down .. audition was ribs up.. yes I was lucky I was playing an exhausted mother .. I’m a natural! #Artist #actorlife #selftape #thanksmom cheers taken in NYC by @the.jnico
