The one person that can take me out of retirement is @ashleytlife. She has been with me since my earlier days of sewing, teaching myself and brushing up a few skills at FIT..As always she killed the look. Also I just love to manipulate fabrics, so this was fun. Having a background in Biological Sciences/Chemistry keeps me mindful when examining the science behind textiles. (Not many in the space can say the same).Comment if you want to see me create a few similar pieces for the summer. I still got them 🙌🏾. Swipe to see the process!.Made using 100% ribbed Lyocell, which is 100% biodegradable and compostable.#goodforyou #SustainableFashion #EcoFriendly #ecoconcious #sustainability by @thearteofstyle

The anticipation of seeing Jay gave me one of the biggest highs I’ve felt in a long time. From my girls and I trading outfit ideas in the group chat, to taking the train to the stadium like we were back in our early twenties, to surviving that absolutely insane five-hour wait outside, every moment became part of the experience. And somehow, it was all worth it.My girls did the white top and denim 🥹.The greatest rapper alive. I’m still recovering from Sunday, but I’m so grateful I got to be part of it. Jay’s lyrics carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life. They challenged me, inspired me, and reminded me to keep going.Little me would be so proud of the woman we’ve become. 🖤 by @thearteofstyle

It feels surreal to see my work featured in @haitiantimes . Link to the full article in my bio 🫶🏾.As a Haitian-American designer, educator, and researcher, this project is about more than fashion. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled 6-3 to allow the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals from Haiti and Syria. This decision strips deportation protections and work permits from an estimated 350,000 Haitian immigrants. Lower court protections have been lifted, meaning the termination can proceed immediately. Affected individuals are urged to consult with legal experts right away. Please start planning with your family NOW! by @thearteofstyle

Last Saturday, to close out 🇭🇹 Haitian Heritage Month, I presented The Remembering at Parsons School of Design a project years in the making and one deeply rooted in memory, ancestry, agriculture, handwork, and the stories that connect us across generations. This collection be be available for purchase and on the website @jacqueslouisc by mid July.Through research, making, conversation, music, food, and community, we gathered to reflect on what it means to remember where we come from and how that knowledge can guide us toward who we are becoming.Thank you to everyone who made this possible: the student models, my intern and Research Assistants @charviibhagat @cardonashley @sathvikaraom, MPS volunteers, faculty, friends, family, and every person who showed up in support. The beautiful models @big.rah_ @elle_boogz @gavrielaramirez @iizzykimberly @foreveroshanda @sydrose.b 😍.Special thanks to @lesocialnomad Ruth for thoughtfully moderating our conversation, @sherleeskai for sharing her artistry, @bachbid5 for traveling from Miami and creating a live charcoal painting, and @monvelyno for blessing us with his beautiful guitar performance. The energy was spiritual.Thank you to @lakoucafe, @haiticoffee, @paparozier, @artxayiti , and @educnationfoundation for helping create such a meaningful experience for our guests. And thank you to everyone who attended. Sharing a little about the meaning behind The Remembering, my second presentation happening May 30th at The New School. Link in bio - pull up on me 🫶🏾.After the passing of my grandmother, I experienced a deep spiritual awakening through dreams, journaling, and reflection. This project became a product of those moments and the understanding of who I am, where I come from, and what I feel called to do in this lifetime. This work is also deeply connected to community, diaspora, and the sacredness of making by hand. I’ve been working alongside one of the seamstresses from Sewing for Refuge, and our time sewing together continues to remind me that fashion, handwork, and creation are deeply spiritual and meditative practices. Energy lives within the threads, the garments, and the process itself. The Remembering is about ancestral identity, healing, purpose, and becoming. This is only the beginning. ✨ #TheRemembering #Haiti #Sewing #sustainablefashion #spirituality by @thearteofstyle

Happy Haitian Heritage Month 🇭🇹Join me for “The Remembering”, a fashion presentation and cultural experience rooted in my heritage, Haitian agriculture, the importance of ancestral memory, and identity. The idea came after hours of journaling trying to navigate the loss of my grandmother in 2024, and how symbolic she was for me. Learning more about my paternal + maternal ancestors, my father, etc. has unlocked a new confidence within me. So deep, so powerful and so solid. So here’s your invitation to see my visual articulation of the story of my grandmother, the role of Haitian Agriculture in the 19th century and hopefully it lights something inside to push you to do some deep ancestral searching work. 📍 Location: Wollman Hall, The New School📅 Date: 5/30/2026⏰ Time: 1PM - 4PMRSVP link in bio! This is more than a show. It’s an experience. You’ll step into a world where fashion meets storytelling a capsule collection inspired by agricultural memory and the beauty of what we carry with us (seeds) across generations.
