PUMPKIN SPICE SKYR SCONES.

Grab that blanket and a hot cup of tea or coffee and make these scones because it’s about to get cozy here!

These scones are golden and tender and so easy to bake up! They give you all the fall feels without running to the store to buy a can of pumpkin!

〰️ THE DEEPER LIVING EATS X CARMELA DESIGNS COLLAB 〰️

I am so so excited to announce my next collab collection, “Always Room For Dessert” with @thedeeperlivingeats

There are so many special things about this collab!

First is my collab partner, Deepika! Not only is she extremely talented at developing and capturing the most stunning desserts, she is an OG follower of mine! Like truly. She is the fourth person that started following this account - I looked.

I have been inspired by her creations for some time! The colors, the textures, her styling. I was so honored that she wanted to do this collab with me.

The second super special thing, especially for my New York/East Coast-based collectors, is that Deepika and I are hosting a pop-up in New York City! It will feature the entire collection along with a selection of Deepika’s desserts for sale. It will be on Saturday, Nov 14 at @hudsonwilder from 12-4 pm. So please save the date! I would love love to see my past, current, and future collectors there!

A little about the actual collection. It consists of eight original paintings, each piece featuring one of Deepika’s recipes. I wanted to capture everything! The flavor, the richness, the sprinkles!

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing more about each piece. But I am just so excited!

And in case you are wondering, those that are able to attend the event in person will have first access to this collection. And then email subscribers will have first dibs after the event.

Gosh, now I need a slice of cake for breakfast 🍰

THE HARVEST MOON COOKIE.

Just like a golden harvest moon on a cloudless night, this cookie showcases a beautiful tangy puddle of passionfruit curd amongst a deep dark brown butter cocoa cookie. The deep black cocoa and brightly hued passionfruit curd are a perfect black and orange combo that feels fitting for spooky season! Because sometimes you want something that feels on theme for October that isn’t pumpkin!

You can grab recipe for these cookies on my Substack! Link is in my bio!

🎃Also to my fellow millennials who else is kind of obsessed with this Halloween remix of Sexyback!?

BAY LEAF + STICKY APPLE CARAMEL CRUMBLE CAKE.

This is the cake I brought last year’s @produceparties Apple themed party!

It’s an apple cider chiffon cake soaked in cinnamon sugar milk, layered with a nutmeg cream cheese whip, sticky cinnamon apple compote, a homemade apple caramel and buttery cinnamon bay leaf nutmeg crumbles. Apple and brown butter are best friends so naturally had to go with a cream cheese, brown butter frosting! The cake is fluffy and light with pockets of jammy apples, crunch buttery crumble and a light fluffy, tangy cream cheese whip.

STILLS FROM MY POP-UPS AT ASANO.

For my first pop-ups at Asano, I curated a selection of Japanese inspired desserts that showcased some of my most popular and well loved favorites!

👆TRIPLE LAYER BLACK SESAME BLONDIES

These blondies have a super nutty chewy black, sesame blondie base and are topped with an extremely black sesame forward buttercream and finished with a black sesame white chocolate ganache. The black sesame and the sweetness of the dessert balance each other out in all the perfect ways! I just love the texture of these and I think the color is just so striking !

👆CREME BRULEE MATCHA COOKIES

I’m a big fan of crème brûlée cookies so I knew I had to make a matcha version. These crème brûlée cookies lean on the sweeter side, but with the addition of matcha , they become more balanced from the earthy grassy notes that matcha brings.

👆UBE S’MORES COOKIES

Can I pick a favorite? These might be it! These are inspired by my ube velvet cookies and my s’mores cookies, they combine the best of both cookies! The cookie base is an ube brown butter dough, swirled with graham cracker butter and swirls of marshmallow fluff! They’re so chewy so thick and I can’t wait to make them again.

👆YUZU SOUR CHERRY LOAF CAKE

This was definitely a crowd favorite it literally was the first thing to sell out. I love how striking the sour cherry glaze is against that super soft plush yuzu sour cherry dotted loaf cake. It’s perfectly moist and has that perfect balance of sweet and tart thanks to the yuzu sour cherry!

👆MATCHA + PASSIONFRUIT PRINCESS TARTA SLAB CAKE.

Layers of soft light matcha chiffon cake stacked between a light as air matcha mascarpone whip and a homemade vanilla passionfruit curd. The cake is then finished with a creamy matcha SMBC and matcha marzipan top dotted with edible flowers.

Last but not least are these triple layer ube blondies. Chewy ube blondies get topped with an ube by @thedeeperlivingeats

APPLE ALMOND BOSTOCK.

Bostock is a notoriously underrated pastry in my opinion. It’s not the most glamorous pastry and I understand that some may not be inclined to go eat or make it when you just look at it but let me tell you, it is the tastiest little pastry ever. It’s super a customizable pastry and is quite unfussy with a high payoff on flavor, texture and taste! You can use any bread soft buttery bread you like but I love to use a nice plush, soft buttery brioche and then you kind of let it dry out a little bit and soak it in whatever syrup or milk you like so you kind of get this like bread pudding, French toast situation, but not but not as soaked. Once the bread is soaked, you can put on any frangipane you like so literally you can go wild. I love to do a classic brown butter almond frangipane. And to seal the deal you pick whatever fruit you desire, some poached rhubarb, a strawberry jam, a lemon curd! The possibilities are endless. It is the first day of fall so we are going with some nice sticky apple compote and and then you just shower everything with a ton load of nuts right before it goes in the oven. Once out of the oven they are literally so soft and fluffy inside but just a little crisp on the edges. You finish off with a shower of powdered sugar and it is truly life-changing.

ROASTED CORN CREME BRULEE COOKIES.

These cookies are my final farewell to summer. If roasted corn on the cob was a dessert it would be these cookies. These cookies are made with brown butter and a hefty dose of freeze dried corn and a bit of cornmeal texture. Honestly, the brown butter corn cookies themselves are delicious, but the real star here is the roasted corn crème brûlée custard!

Grab the recipe on my Substack! Link is in the bio!

UBE + TOASTED MILK + VANILLA COOKIES.

Neapolitan cookies always have a special place in my heart. I love that you can have three different types of cookies all in one bite! These cookies have a lovely, deep purple, coconutty, vanilla ube flavor, a classic vanilla flavor, and a deeply malty, toasty milk flavor! The different flavors work so well together and honestly look so beautiful together!

Recipe up on my Substack!

A SUMMER SUNDAE.

The fact that I haven’t had nearly enough sundaes this summer and that it’s almost fall makes is making me desperately seek more sundaes before the summer is over!

Now, do you really need a recipe for a sundae? I tend to think not because sundaes are really just an excuse to fill a cup with your favorite bits and bobs and eat them with ice cream! But I will say, there are a few things that I think are non-negotiable for an epic sundae! Read all about them on my Substack, linked on my bio!
