Thank you everyone for joining us to our RECORD COVER online workshop, our first Drawing Sesh of 2026! For one hour we looked at and drew from record covers. For the occasion, we also looked at the work of different artists who’ve delt with the record cover format, including Mickalene Thomas( (1971) Andy Warhol (1928-1987), Raymond Pettibon (1957), Jeff Koons (1955). We did a total of 8 drawings, with drawing times ranging between 3 and 7 minutes. The idea was to simplify the covers we drew from, making recognisable images while edging towards abstraction. We’re sharing the drawings we did for the occasion. We’ve just published the video of the session on our Patreon, as well as the workshop presentation, for you to draw in your own time. Available to supporters of our fan tier and above. We meet again this week on Thursday January 22nd, at 5pm UK. We’ll be drawing TOWARDS ABSTRACTION, and we can’t wait! Have a great week till then Virgile & Karolina by @thedrawingsesh
