Mammogram and Sonogram ALL CLEAR! It’s my 9th year since diagnosis and It’s been a tough 24 hours waiting for the results. I didn’t know when I went in yesterday that I wouldn’t walk out knowing that everything was ok. It’s the first time and the technician told me they changed their policy because there’s too many people and too few radiologists.

I couldn’t breath and suffered from a lot of anxiety in the past 24 hours, more so now just thinking about the what if’s for my boys since the loss of their dad. I also didn’t tell them I was going to my appointment. It’s just too much.

As I was sitting with Jaylan for breakfast this morning, he said, “Today is 1 year and 1 month. I wonder what my life would be…”.

We spoke about this “anniversary” as I was checking the portal. Literally at that moment, my results popped up. “No suspicious findings”. I was ecstatic to share my news with him, and he was grateful I hadn’t told him I was waiting. I hope it helped to also shape the mood of his day. I just shared my news with Jaron and he will wake up to a happy text.

It’s an important year as I now head towards my 10 year mark. I will happily and healthily begin this “new” year with so many feelings and emotions. I HATE CANCER. I AM SO SICK OF CANCER. AND I am still here to support all of you. It’s what keeps each day so meaningful, so please continue to reach out for support, info, hacks, tips and support. taken in Memorial Sloan Kettering Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center by @themomsnetwork

#SponsoredByGSK As many of you know, my passion these days is all about prioritizing meaningfulness and helping others going through a health journey.

The MOMS partnership with @GSK and their #Ask2BSure campaign was a perfect fit. I didn't know that teens and young adults need 2 different kinds of vaccinations to help protect them against the 5 vaccine-preventable groups of meningitis.

Last week, at the pediatrician’s office, I did #Ask2BSure and found out that my 17-year-old son Jaron did not receive his meningitis B vaccination yet.

@meningitisbactionproject co-founder Patti lost her daughter to meningitis B, and what this mom has done to help educate others since then is truly remarkable. @Jamartinbaum, a meningitis survivor, was a college student when she contracted the disease and had to have her fingers and both legs below the knee amputated... but is sharing her story to help others!

It was wonderful to host the event and take part with Soleil @Moonfrye and her daughter Poet, a kind, passionate and beautiful soul and their friend, pediatrician @DrShakha.

There is nothing better than being in-person, connected, catching up and spending time with so many people I haven't seen in years and who continue to support our community and make a difference with all they are doing. Thank you, and moms - don't forget to #Ask2BSure! taken in The Garland by @themomsnetwork

BIG NEWS! I’m incredibly honored to be the first ever honoree of @makingstridescentralpark in October. Every day, I try to learn more, meet more patients and survivors and get involved with more organizations that help so many! There’s nothing I’m more passionate about than doing what I can to make each cancer journey just a little bit easier. As a survivor, life is never the same, and I’m still learning about that too! I’m so grateful for this opportunity especially as I continue to work on my latest start-up, @mycancerfamily !
🔗 in bio to learn more and to form a team and / or join me there! 💗🙏

#SponsoredByGSK We’re proud to partner with @GSK to get parents, healthcare providers, and even teens talking about #meningitisb and the importance of vaccination. Meningitis B is an uncommon but serious, potentially life-threatening illness that poses a greater risk to teens and young adults 16-23.

💛Don’t miss our live #MAMARAZZI event with GSK, which will feature a panel discussion with our very own DeniseAlbert, actress Soleil @moonfrye, and other advocates including @MeningitisBActionProject!

💛Sign up for more information about the event and learn more about Ask2BSure at the link in our bio. #Ask2BSure

It was probably one of my best events ever and certainly one of the best nights in a long time. If you haven’t seen @dearevanhansen yet, add it to your list immediately. I’ve been listening to the music daily since I saw it years ago and while I was hoping to bring my son last night, and experience it with him, it was just as good or better the 2nd time around. My son was sick but it’s such an important show to see and talk about with your teens and older kids. Mental Health and everything kids face today is captured and shared in the most beautiful and important way.
🎤I was so honored to host a conversation with the cast after the show and they shared how impactful it’s been for them to be a part of what I think is the most meaningful show ever.
☀️It was such a bonus to be able to Include so many moms and influencers I know and love and haven’t seen in real life in years. taken in Dear Evan Hansen by @themomsnetwork

Cancer doesn’t discriminate. I’ve heard of too many incredible women lost this week. This is the one you all recognize. I’ve heard of others, way younger and with so much ahead of them. No one, at any age should suffer from or go through a cancer journey. There’s still so much to do and please remember cancer doesn’t stop because of covid. Call your friends going through a cancer journey today, ask how you can help. Call your friends who just finished treatment, because it’s an ongoing battle in so many ways. Hug those you love. Live your life. Learn from others, especially from women like Secretary Albright. Don’t ever settle. Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever stop loving and living. Be the Secretary of State of your own life!

Anything is possible. That’s what we thought 10 years ago when we created a fashion show for moms, starring moms and to empower moms. Though the show was announced in @wwd , the show was less about fashion and more about women rocking their confidence and dancing down the runway to show it! We were two journalists and entrepreneurs who never worked in fashion but had a vision and we did it, not just once, but three times at fashion week at Lincoln Center.
⭐️We hope as you all enter your next 10 years, this empowers you or inspires you in some way.
⭐️ We aren’t on here as much as we used to be, but we are still best friends, we are still creating, passionate and turning our visions and dreams into realities and hope you are following along, here and our other accounts @denisealbert @melissagerstein @iheartdancenyc and @mycancerfamily ! 🙏💗

I’m partnering with @AstraZeneca to tell you about this “Passport” which will change breast and ovarian cancer patients' lives for the better! This “Passport” from Unite for HER PAYS for $2,000 worth of integrative and wellness treatments!!!!!!! This “Passport” is FREE for those who apply and are within 18 months of diagnosis. #ad

Cancer changed my life, and for the better I never thought I would say that. But there’s one woman I wish I knew about during my cancer journey. Sue Weldon, founder of @unite4her says, “Cancer was my best teacher, though not something I want anyone to have to learn from, but it taught me so much and led me to this path”. Her path is this non-profit she founded after her cancer journey and it’s truly unbelievable what they do.

Because I have shared my journey, I’m so grateful my cancer community has now led me to Sue. Because of her, people like me are getting better care for their heart, mind, and body during their cancer journey. If you qualify and are newly diagnosed within 18 months, all you have to do is apply and you will receive $2,000 to spend on important integrative care like professional counseling, reiki, meal delivery, ongoing nutrition consults, or other supportive care not covered by insurance that is so important to your treatment. This “passport” pays for those services. It’s truly magical and something every single person diagnosed needs to know about!

Sue and her team at Unite for HER are changing lives and I’m so happy to be able to introduce you to them thanks to The Cancer Community Awards (or C2 Awards). Sue and Unite for HER is the recipient of the 2021 Catalyst for Care Award that recognizes their results in better cancer care for more people. The C2 Awards celebrate the unsung heroes of cancer care, whose relentless drive to affect positive change has given new hope to those affected by this devastating disease.

I’ve always said, the best part about being a survivor is becoming part of a cancer community and learning about all the good so many others are doing for all of us. (More in Comments) by @themomsnetwork
