𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

The need has never been greater. Black youth continue to face unique barriers to accessing culturally responsive mental health care, and nationally, nearly 1 in 10 high school students reported attempting suicide in the past year, underscoring the importance of early support and intervention. We care deeply about community safety and we take our responsibility seriously.

The Therapy Fund Foundation exists 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. That mission guides how we steward our limited resources.

We receive many requests to support urgent community needs. While those efforts matter, our organization’s funding priorities remain centered on therapy, peer support, youth healing,tuition assistance, and prevention through mental health education and advocacy as seen through our annual reclaiming wellness conference dedicated to train mental health professionals how to improve mental health outcomes for communities of color.

This work is personal. It’s intentional. Healing is part of prevention. 🤎

What an honor to see the Therapy Fund Foundation featured in the Seattle Seahawks Community Impact Report! 🏈

Over the years, the @Seahawks have continued to show up for our mission of eliminating barriers to mental health care for Black communities and those historically excluded from healing.

From investing in our Free Therapy Fund to creating opportunities for meaningful conversations around mental health, their support has helped us reach more people, amplify important conversations, and remind our communities that mental health matters.

As a small nonprofit doing BIG work, partnerships like these mean so much. It’s one thing to talk about community impact. It’s another to consistently invest in the organizations doing the work.

Thank you, Seattle Seahawks, for believing in our mission, investing in healing, and using your platform to make a difference beyond the field.

We’re grateful to be part of your story of impact and even more grateful for the lives we’re able to touch together. 🤎

In Seattle, the people need a hug!!! And Healers need healing, too. 🤎 I’m so excited to be part of putting together—and speaking at—Holding the Healers with @therapyfundfoundation ! 🤎🤎🤎

I’ll be joining “The Weight of Holding Community,” a panel exploring the impacts of gun violence, grief, and what it means to keep showing up for others while carrying pain of your own.

I know this well. And as I’ve recently been bullied online by orgs claiming they help the problem, this is even more of a time to get loud and advocate that we all be able to find our joy, heal, and be kind to others. 🤎🤎🤎

We’ll talk about the expectations placed on community leaders, protecting our peace when criticism becomes harm, and a question we need to ask more often: Who holds the people holding everyone else?

This conversation is personal to me. Losing my father to gun violence shaped my life long before I had words for that loss. Today, as a mother and someone who serves community, I know that purpose and pain can live in the same heart. And having the strength to show up doesn’t mean we don’t need support ourselves.

Join us for meaningful conversations, community connection, keynote speaker @joelbervell , and a celebration of this year’s scholarship recipients. Free 15-minute therapist consultations will also be available, with limited spots and registration required.
