Hey Friends!

We are less than 9 days away from the HBCU Scholarship Ride. The HBCU Ride was established to financially assist students from Newark, NJ in realizing their aspirations of attending an HBCU.

As an Hamptonian I know firsthand the benefits of attending an HBCU. My Home by the Sea fostered lifelong friends and support for the past 30+ years. Born in Newark and raised in Essex County, I am committed to acknowledging the challenges that students face and helping to bridge the gap between deserving students and their ability to pay for school.

Although I am not riding, I am providing SAG (Safety And Gear) support to the cyclists. This is an important role as I am making sure the riders remain in good health and having all they need to get to DC.

The ride leaves from Newark, NJ on August 21st and we will arrive at Howard University on August 23rd!

Words cannot express the JOY I have for my sister/cousin Sakina and finally releasing her book. She did her thing with this one and shares some very selfless inspiration and reflection about her life gracefully! Some made you laugh and others will definitely have your eyes watery. The way the room was able to reflect and relate sharing their own stories was captivating!!! I couldnt even begin to think of the courage it took to be so vulnerable and transparent.

At the top of the year, I asked the universe for more JOY in my life ( the noun and the verb) and yesterday delivered just that. Yoga, meditation, and a Sunday sound bath was the healing vibe we didn’t know we needed.
