Last night was pretty special 👏🥂✨ The Raising the Future Event @thehubonverulam for parents of Generation Alpha & Beta. It was a beautiful and insightful evening, well done to Ellie and Hannah and thank you so much for inviting us to host the best panel 🙏👌in the most gorgeous venue. Lucy and I hosted a panel around the theme of ‘Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies’ and how we can support our children to thrive in our modern world. Thank you to our incredible expert panellists who were amazing 👇 Lauren @thelittlegymharpenden Bec @mini.mindfulnessuk and Louise @nourished__nest You complemented each other perfectly and there were some super useful, actionable takeaways. The evening consisted of 3 panels and the other 2 were centred around ‘Parenting in the age of smartphones’ and ‘emotional resilience’ Let’s keep having these important conversations and safe spaces where we normalise different experiences and versions of parenting and get clear advice so we feel less alone and overwhelmed as parents 🙌🩵 by @this_is_alphabites
The community of parents behind the podcast. Now on Substack. Let’s gooooooo ! 🩵 Come and join us, link in bio 👌 by @this_is_alphabites
2 events in 1 week… who even are we?! 😅🎤 What a weekend at @homelifeandyou! 🩵 Our first ever time on stage, and we loved every single minute of “Is This Normal? Parenting, Rewritten.” We kicked off with “The sentence I swore I’d never say” (we’ve all been there 😂) and talked about why old-school parenting isn’t working anymore. The world and our kids have changed, so we can’t parent like our parents did. That’s why we’re building the manual for modern parents, made by humans, backed by experts and built with you. It means normalising every parenting experience and every version of family life, because the answer to “is this normal?” is almost always YES 🙌 Thank you Home Life & You for having us, and huge thanks to our village who came along, laughed and shared their stories. You were the best bit 😎 by @this_is_alphabites
Our top 3 takeaways from our panellists Bec @mini.mindfulnessuk, Lauren @thelittlegymharpenden and Louise @nourished__nest at the ‘Raising the Future’ event at @thehubonverulam this week. Aren’t they brilliant? Lucy and I are definitely implementing some of this as we head into the weekend with our kiddos 🥰 Watch to the end ➡️🩵 We are at @homelifeandyou on Sunday talking on stage all about normalising parenting experiences ! Wish us luck - our first time on the stage speaking 😬🙌 by @this_is_alphabites
The ‘Raising the Future’ event focused on Gen Alpha & Beta (our fave generation 😉✨) @thehubonverulam on Wednesday evening was brilliant, thank you to the hub for inviting us to host the ‘Healthy Bodies and Healthy Minds’ panel 🩵 During the evening while we discussed Parenting in the age of smartphones, What heathy really means and emotional resilience, 1 thing stood out to me - the shame we feel around sharing certain parenting experiences. A friend recently shared with me that their 7 year old was struggling to be dry at night and confessed she hadn’t shared it with anyone as she felt he was too old to be experiencing this. Let’s normalise the realities and messiness that comes with parenting. Because otherwise we feel alone and are not able to find connection that supports our happiness and wellbeing 😔 This event was full of exactly this and when we feel we’re not the only one it’s so reassuring and makes everyone feel better, and able to thrive 🙌 And that’s why we are building AlphaBites. We are excited to be creating the most amazing space to rewrite the narrative on parenting so no parent feels alone and can get easy access to expert, trusted advice without the noise and overwhelm of the digital world. It’s so freeing to share different versions and different experiences, and to realise you’re most probably not the only one 🥰 Thank you Louise @nourished__nest, Bec @mini.mindfulnessuk and Lauren @thelittlegymharpenden for providing that expert, trusted advice for us on Wednesday. It was the perfect safe space 👌 🩵 by @this_is_alphabites
We’re so excited to spend the day hosted by @flock_here @canva with @clue.labs_ (honestly the dream combo!!!) getting savvy support on content creation, and connecting and creating with a room full of brilliant female founders 🌈🪩🩵 We’re building the most exciting community for modern parenting, so this feels like the perfect moment to get stuck into some super cool content and planning for AlphaBites - the village behind the mic 🎙️ Come and join us! Tomorrow 10am to 4pm at Canva HQ, London. If you’re going, let us know in the comments so we can say hello 👋 Thanks @danielle_wallington_ for creating another much needed space for female business owners 🙌 by @this_is_alphabites
🩵We’re coming to Home Life and You on 17th and 18th October!👌 Lucy and I can’t wait to be a part of this. If you’re coming, please come and watch, then come and find us afterwards. We’d absolutely love to see you 🩵 So, who are we? We’re building AlphaBites: the go-to community for parents of Gen Alpha and Gen Beta. We’re calling it Is This Normal? because, quite frankly, it’s the question we ask most as parents 🤷‍♀️ What started as our podcast has grown into the village behind the mic 🎙️ ✨ Made by humans ✨ Backed by experts ✨ Built with parents A real, non-judgemental space that’s rewriting the narrative of parenting. Think The Wonder Weeks, but for older children 🙌 💌 Head to our shiny new Substack for funny, relatable stories from our parents, plus expert-backed articles. Link in bio. 🎟️ Want a ticket discount? Is this normal? 👀 It's the question we all ask as parents, and it's the title of our talk at @homelifeandyou Modern family life looks nothing like the one we grew up in, and so much of the invisible load we carry comes from trying to make the old rules fit. So Lucy and I are rewriting them ✍️ That's why AlphaBites exists: a parent community behind the mic for the here and now, as we navigate the changing landscape for our kids, together 🙌 We're looking forward to speaking on the stage 👇 🎤 Is This Normal? Parenting, Rewritten: why old-school parenting isn't working, and what makes for a calmer home in a modern world 📅 Sunday 18th October 📍 Home Stage ⏰ 12.45-1.15pm It's a topic we care about SO much and we can't wait to get up there and talk about it 😁 We love this event. It has such a unique vibe, with a real emphasis on community and a fresh look at how we live. If you're coming, PLEASE COME AND WATCH! And come and find us afterwards. We'd absolutely love to see you! 🎟️ Want a ticket discount? Comment GENA and we'll send you the code! Big Love, Kate & Lucy 🩵x Who’s coming?! 🙌🙌 by @this_is_alphabites

Nobody gave us a manual for this version of childhood. Parenting in 2026 needs a new playbook so we’re writing it together. Two mums, real experts, zero judgement. Listen to AlphaBites for podcast episodes or deep dive into themes that resonate with you over on Substack. Links in bio 🩵🩵 by @this_is_alphabites
Is it normal that my Year 2 son is desperate for a sleepover... and I think he’s too young? 👀 A new one from one of our listeners. He asks about it constantly and this mum is not ready. ‘Part of me thinks he’d be absolutely fine. The other part is picturing the 2am wobble and a very tired boy the next day’ Wanting to say yes and wanting to say “not yet” at the same time? Completely normal 🩵 What age did your child have their first sleepover? Or are you in the “not yet” camp with me? Drop a 🩵 if this is you too 👇 Big Love, Kate & Lucy x by @this_is_alphabites
