@handmade.with.lauren just released her pattern for the Panorama Sweater — a beautiful cabled pattern inspired by the panoramas of British Columbia. It is a really special design and it was an honour to test it, especially as my first cabled project! 🏔️🌲🌊

Details 🌟 Panorama Sweater by @handmade.with.lauren with @briggslittle Heritage in Navy Blue from @fiafiayarns and @wooltrends709. A Canadian project through and through, and I just really love that.

This is Lauren’s first pattern release and if it is any indication of where her designs are headed, we are all in for a treat. 💙

June’s muse board which I feel will take me throughout the summer, realistically. Feeling very existential and nostalgic, but what else is new? Thinking of the ocean and the garden and colour and spinning wool and summer knits I likely won’t get to this year. ❣️🌊🌟

My spring update is:

1. I am still mourning the ending of Outlander (cries).

2. The garden has not yet been tended to (oops).

3. It has been a wonderful few weeks absolutely loving my #mandisweater. It was such a joy to test knit this for @knittersandfriends. It’s a beautiful pattern and it’s out now! And it’s a lighter weight sweater which is perfect for cooler spring days (I’ve worn it so much already!) and summer nights. Big win in my books! 🌟

Support local wool! (!!!) 🌟 Support local, period. Craft mindfully. Be intentional. Listen to your heart. Use your hands. Remember why. Bask in the joy of your creation.

Picked up these two beautiful Canadian yarns at @knitcitycanada from makers dedicated to promoting local wool and healing the industry in Canada.

@longwayhomestead produces breed specific yarn too, which is rare to find. I’m so excited about the Rideau Arcott skeins I picked up. It’s so lovely to get to know the different breed characteristics of wool that make knits unique in both function and aesthetics.

This work is so important, inspiring and means a lot to me as a knitter and wool lover! ❣️🤲🏼

This rusty red is reminding me of cardinals, bricks, warmth, blood and all the life spring brings. 🩸

I’m trying to practice fixing things I don’t like about the things I’ve made. I knew the minute I finished the collar on this cardigan that I didn’t like it. That was in November and while I only got around to it now, I’m so glad I did. I may even do it again! Arguably, this is the best part about crafting slowly. Being able to come back to it again and again until you love it enough to wear it forever.

Definitely listened to the Outlander soundtrack while making this but this is the song stuck in my head right now. 🤠

Most days I do pretend I’m with my 17th century fairy ancestors in the Scottish Highlands and when my brother brought me the most beautiful rustic Aran yarn from Ireland, I knew I needed to make something in honour of that vision. 🌟

An inspiration photo of a shrug/capelet I had saved on Pinterest was what I decided to make. I hadn’t previously found a pattern for it, so I was going to wing it and try to self-draft something. My gut told me to check one more time that there wasn’t a pattern I could use as a starting point. Imagine my utter shock when I got not only a pattern to use as a starting point, but also THE pattern modeled after the exact same inspiration photo I had saved. A very happy ending for me thanks to @stitching_stone! ❣️

🧶 The most perfect Aran yarn my brother brought me back from a small shop in Ireland and I wish I had more of.
