L.A. FOOD RUN 2026 Taste the best of L.A.—the bagel, the burger, the croissant, the pizza—back-to-back, in a single run. Every bite is on us. Join us on Sunday, May 17, for the first-ever L.A. FOOD RUN—a social half marathon through Silver Lake, Echo Park, East Hollywood, and beyond, with stops to refuel at the places defining what L.A. tastes like right now. 100 participants will be selected via lottery. Spots are raffled in pairs, so grab a partner and start working up an appetite. SIGN-UPS ARE OPEN NOW:  tipster.io/la/run @quartersheets @courage_bagels @fondry_la @amboy_qualitymeats @tworosela @foundoyster @bubandgrandmasbread @sqirlla   @salomonrunning   13.1 MILES  100 RUNNERS  L.A. Running a half marathon is one thing. Doing it with stops for some of LA’s best food is another. The first-ever LA Food Run is happening May 17, turning a 13.1-mile route through Silver Lake, Echo Park, East Hollywood, and beyond into a full-on tasting experience. Participants will hit spots like @quartersheets @courage_bagels @fondry_la @amboy_qualitymeats @tworosela @foundoyster @bubandgrandmasbread and @sqirlla all in one run. The food is free, you skip the lines, and the whole thing is designed more like a social run than a race. There’s just one catch. Only 100 people get in, and spots are being awarded through a lottery that closes May 6, with winners announced the next day. If you don’t get picked, this might be the best excuse to map your own version. By the way, we have a weekly newsletter with what’s worth knowing about and doing in Los Angeles. One newsletter. Once a week. Link in bio. Media via @tipsterla / Shutterstock #mustdolosangeles #lafoodrun #lamarathon by @tipsterla
Running changes how you experience a city. What started in Copenhagen has evolved into a global run series spanning New York, Amsterdam, and now Los Angeles—with more routes to come this year. Together with @salomon, these runs have become a way of experiencing cities through movement, food, and community. Last Sunday’s L.A. FOOD RUN wasn’t just about chasing the finish line. It was about experiencing L.A. through the people, kitchens, bakeries, and small businesses that give the city its flavor. Thank you to everyone who ran with us and to the spots that opened their doors along the way: @quartersheets @courage_bagels @fondry_la @amboy_qualitymeats @tworosela @foundoyster @bubandgrandmasbread @sqirlla by @tipsterla
A 13.1-mile celebration of L.A.’s food scene. We’re bringing our global run series to L.A. For those who followed the NYC BAKERY RUN, this is the next chapter. Same DNA, but wider, wilder, and moving across the neighborhoods defining what L.A. tastes like right now. The L.A. FOOD RUN is a social happening that spotlights the icons and new guard pushing the food scene forward. On May 17, the route takes us by some of our favorite places and bites: Stop 1: @fondry_la Tofu cloud croissant toast Stop 2: @bubandgrandmasbread Cinnamon sugar doughnut Stop 3: @quartersheets Detroit-style pizza with ricotta, cured Eureka lemon, and Santa Barbara pistachio pesto Stop 4: @sqirlla Corn muffin with seasonal fruit Stop 5: @courage_bagels Tomato and cream cheese bagel Stop 6: @foundoyster Scallop tostada Stop 7: @tworosela Stone-milled rye chocolate chip cookie Stop 8: @amboy_qualitymeats Amboy Classic burger Sign-ups are open through May 6: tipster.io/la/run by @tipsterla
Bakery, diner, and backbone of L.A.’s bread infrastructure. At @bubandgrandmasbread, Andy Kadin scaled a homegrown operation into one of the city’s most relied-on bread programs—supplying top kitchens before opening his own brick-and-mortar in Glassell Park. Get a taste on 05.17.2026. by @tipsterla
After years in L.A.’s restaurant world, David Wilcox stepped away from the dining room and built @tworosela, a small-batch bakery run out of his Melrose Hill home. Available only a few days a week, his long-fermented country loaves, seeded breads, and stone-milled rye chocolate chip cookies reflect the power of process over scale. Built by Arielle Skye and Chris Moss on wild fermentation, market produce, and a refusal to imitate, @courage_bagels rewrites the rules of a city that never had a defining bagel culture to begin with. What started as a bicycle-based operation in Silver Lake has grown into one of the West Coast’s most recognizable carb destinations. Get a taste on 05.17.2026. by @tipsterla
@sqirlla defines a generation of L.A. dining. @prosciuttosnacks continues to set the standard for the city’s modern breakfast and lunch culture. Now, a move into dinner carries her vibrant, market-driven California cooking into a new chapter. Get a taste on 05.17.2026. by @tipsterla
At @quartersheets, crispy-edged Detroit-style pies and headline-worthy Princess cakes prove indulgence is a craft. Aaron Lindell and @hannahziskin reshape the neighborhood pizza shop with naturally leavened crusts, toppings sourced from local farms, and desserts that justify the trip on their own. Lamination is the star at @fondry_la. Trained in France and shaped by a Hong Kong–to–L.A. trajectory, pastry chef Ivy Ku reworks the viennoiserie she cut her teeth on—turning out tofu cloud croissants and black sesame flans that feel both technical and deeply personal. @amboy_qualitymeats cuts through LA’s burger noise with something louder. In a Chinatown strip on Broadway, @alvincailan’s thick patties and smashed classics stake a claim in the neighborhood’s new guard. Get a taste on 05.17.2026. by @tipsterla
@foundoyster brings East Hollywood swagger to the humble coastal raw bar format. Chef @arikolender balances seafood shack tradition with LA sensibility, serving scallop tostadas, crudos, and seafood towers that need no introduction. Get a taste on 05.17.2026. by @tipsterla
