Yesterday’s Sold Out party with @daddydarkrdc is hard to put in to words just how joyful and uplifting the whole day was from start to finish!

I didn’t take many videos but I think these really capture the energy of everyone who was there!

@daddydarkrdc thank you for coming to our city and playing the most incredible selection of music!

Everyone who was there, from all generations and different walks of life felt totally connected through your music.

Every single DJ from start to finish played with their heart and soul. Thank you so much to @nicklovesjazz @tombelte @dawn_c_399 @_imantus_ @reonvanger @steffantayloruk @tonijgrehan - you set up and closed the party perfectly!

This event could not of happened without the support from so many people.

Thank you @jem_and_danny_djs Jem for providing the sound system-this really made the party.

Thank you @tombelte and @steffantayloruk for lending us your DJ equipment- the best quality!

@tombelte also cooked all that delicious food- it was so tasty- there was nothing left by the end of the party! Sooooo tasty! Thank you so much Tom!

NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT!

Variations and Dunya are proud to bring Dar Disku to Birmingham- as part of their world tour!

Bahrain-born childhood friends Mazen Almaskati and Vish M have been digging, making and sharing music together since their teenage years, tracing connections between the traditional SWANA sounds they grew up with and the electronic music they discovered along the way.

What began with digging for rarities and burning mix CDs has grown into Dar Disku: a musical world spanning Khaleeji sounds, Arabic disco, Egyptian folk, Turkish psych, Algerian raï, Sudanese funk and beyond, all brought into conversation with contemporary club culture.

Since emerging as a DJ duo in 2018, they’ve taken their selections to dancefloors around the world, from Glastonbury and fabric to Sub Club and Magnetic Fields, sharing stages with the likes of Four Tet, Nabihah Iqbal and Palms Trax.

We’re especially excited to welcome them to the iconic Hare & Hounds, where the venue’s incredible sound system provides the perfect setting for a night for dancefloor energy.

Plus, Dunya and Variations resident DJs will be on support duties, bringing the best in Punjabi influenced sounds and Global dancefloor and Balearic flavours to round out the night from start to finish.

Birmingham and beyond- this is going to be special!

We are super excited to welcome our special guest TONi @tonijgrehan to Bristol this Saturday night to close our September Residency at @thegallibristol alongside @novo.katie & @dj__hansolo. It’s been an incredible month & what a way to finish.

TONi is a DJ and selector with a deep love for music that moves between the cracks, from jazz, broken beat and house to disco, Balearic and global sounds. Whatever the tempo or genre, soul is always at the centre. Equally at home digging through vinyl or navigating a digital crate, her sets are all about unexpected connections, deep cuts and letting one record lead naturally into the next. She’s warmed up for the likes of Gilles Peterson, Musclecars, Shy One, Dave Lee, Horse Meat Disco, Colleen Murphy, Aroop Roy and Greg Wilson, while continuing to carve out a sound that’s distinctly her own.

We’ll be playing Dar Disku’s debut album on vinyl, in full, taking in Bollywood influences, Egyptian folk, Turkish psych, Algerian raï, Sudanese funk, Ethiopian jazz, Nigerian disco and beyond 🌍🌎🌏

Nick Schlittner

Nick Schlittner is a record collector and DJ with a deep love for Jazz, Latin and Brazilian music.

He has been running Come Sunday with fellow DJs Jayson Wynters and Tom Belte for the last four years, establishing it as one of the biggest jazz dance sessions in the UK with a reputation for bringing the best dancers and DJs to Brum
including Patrick Forge, Perry Louis, Tina Edwards, Colin Curtis, DJ Amazon, Paul Murphy and DJ Amir.

Nick’s is known as a serious selector with an ear for the hardest and fastest tunes and this has made him a popular guest at sessions across the country including Irfan Rainys’ Do One in Manchester, Sheffield’s Milestones Jazz and Katie Novos’ Counting Blessings parties in Bristol.

Tom is a resident at Come Sunday and an active member of the Pra Vida community.

He hosts Dreaming In Colour on Love Will Save The Day FM, using the platform to bring listeners together through thoughtful, wide-ranging selections.

Rooted in DIY culture, Tom is now creating music from home, drawing inspiration from counterculture, experimentation and a desire to keep things moving.

A believer that love really does save the day.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS NOW SOLD OUT ❤️

SHE CREATES - VINYL DJ WORKSHOP! 🎧

As part of our next She Creates event, we’re excited to be offering three intimate vinyl mixing workshops, led by She Creates co-founder Toni Grehan. Toni, also founder of Variations, is a passionate vinyl collector. She loves nothing more than building her collection and playing records in clubs and at festivals, and loves introducing others to the joy of mixing on vinyl.

These sessions are designed for women and non-binary DJs who already mix digitally and are curious about making the move to vinyl.

With just two people per workshop, you’ll have plenty of hands-on time and the chance to ask lots of questions in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Together we’ll cover:
• Beat matching by ear & finding the cue.
• Looking after your vinyl & understanding the equipment.
• Practical tips to help you feel confident using turntables.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try vinyl or you’re looking to build your confidence behind a pair of turntables, this is a gentle introduction with no pressure just a chance to learn, experiment and have fun.
