Exercise of the Day:

🔺WRIST ROLLS🔺

I love this one because it’s great for generating a faster and harder shot, keeping good stick strength for catching hard passes and for puck protection, and building the grip endurance to stay sharp late into the third. Not to mention, this works on shoulder stability simultaneously!

Gym packed? Claim a rack and bang out these two supersets for a solid leg day! 🦵

Superset 1 (x4)
Front squat → quads, core stability
KB hip flexor raise → hip flexors
Back squat → glutes, quads

Superset 2 (x3)
RDL → hamstrings, glutes, lower back
Barbell calf raise → calves

Everything runs off the same bar plus one kettlebell.

Save it for your next leg day!

Ten moves, one kettlebell, your whole upper body.

Half of this is done kneeling on purpose. More stability!

1. Chest Press — elbows at 45°, not flared out.

2. Bent-Over Row — flat back.

3. Kneeling Clean — guide the bell around the wrist.

4. Kneeling Curl — biceps with nowhere to hide. No leaning back.

5. Kneeling Zombie Press — arms out front, ribs down. Shoulder stability test.

6. Upright Row — lead with the elbows, stop at chest height.

7. Kneeling Halo — slow circles, tight to the head. Shoulder mobility.

8. Single-Arm Press — one side at a time exposes what two arms hide.

9. Side Bend — straight side to side, no rotating.

10. Farmer’s Carry — walk tall. Grip, traps, posture in one.

Save this for your next workout!

Seven moves, one kettlebell, your entire lower body.

1. KB Swing — hip power. Snap the hips.

2. Single-Leg RDL — hamstrings + balance. Hips square, slow on the way down.

3. Sumo Squat — wide stance, hits the inner thigh and glutes.

4. Goblet Squat — bell tight to the chest.

5. Reverse Lunge — kinder on the knees than forward, same glute payoff.

6. Hip Flexion Iso Hold — knee up, ribs down, don’t lean back. Hip flexors are the muscle most leg days forget.

7. Tip-Toe Walk — bell in front, tall chest, heels up the whole way. Calves and ankles, which is where a lot of lower body training stops short.

Save this for your next lower body day.

Here are 5 of my go-to upper body exercises for hockey players:

* Half-Kneeling Single-Arm Landmine Press - Builds pressing strength while challenging core stability and teaching efficient force transfer.

* Single-Arm Cable Row with Rotation - Develops pulling strength while training rotational power that’s essential for shooting and passing.

* Half-Kneeling Dumbbell Press - Improves shoulder stability, core control, and unilateral strength.

* Wood Chops - One of the best ways to develop explosive rotational power for harder shots and quicker movement.

* Face Pulls - Strengthens the upper back and rear shoulders to improve posture, shoulder health, and long-term durability.

Which one is your favorite?

Save this for your next upper body day and send it to a teammate who needs it.

Strong skating starts in the gym.

These are five of my go-to lower body exercises to help hockey players build strength, power, balance, and resilience:

* Lateral Bounds – Develop explosive lateral power for stronger skating strides.

* Copenhagen Planks – Build adductor strength to improve stability and help reduce groin injury risk.

* Single-Leg RDLs – Improve balance, posterior chain strength, and hip control.

* Lateral Box Step-Ups – Train single-leg force production through a skating-specific movement pattern.

* Bulgarian Split Squats – Build unilateral strength, mobility, and power that carries over to every stride.

Which one is your favorite?

Exercise of the Day:

🔺LATERAL STEP-UP ON FOAM PLYO-BOX🔺

Challenge your balance while building single-leg strength, stability, and control. Great for improving lateral force production for hockey and creating stronger, more resilient knees and ankles for everyday training.

I bring the gym to you.

You don’t need a gym membership to get stronger. Whether we’re training in your home, apartment gym, a park, or another space that works for you, I’ll build workouts around your goals and the equipment you have.

This session is proof that a resistance band can deliver a challenging full-body workout when it’s programmed with purpose.

If you’ve been wanting to get stronger but haven’t known where to start, I’d love to help.

No gym? No dumbbells? No problem!

Grab a couple of 5-gallon water jugs, fill them up, and you’ve got everything you need for a challenging full-body workout at home.

One of the benefits of training with water jugs is that the shifting water creates an unstable load, forcing your core, grip, and stabilizer muscles to work harder than they would with traditional weights.

Try this full-body circuit for 4–6 rounds:

Zercher Squats x10
Dead Lift x10
Floor Press x10
Bent Over Row x10
Single-Leg RDL x10
Lunges x8/leg
Overhead Press x10
Calf Raises x10
Curls x12
Farmer’s Walk x60 sec

Rest as needed between rounds and focus on quality movement.

Save this workout for the next time you can’t make it to the gym.

Sometimes we all need the reminder: doing something is better than doing nothing.

If you’re anything like me and tend to have an all-in or all-out mindset, it can be hard to feel good about your training when life gets in the way and you can’t follow your program exactly as planned.

Lately, I’ve been grateful to be swamped with work, which has made it tough to fit in my full lifting sessions and MMA training. But I’ve also been reminded that a 30-minute workout still counts. It keeps you moving, builds momentum, and helps you stay focused physically and mentally.

Perfection isn’t the goal. Consistency is.

Show up, do what you can, and trust that it adds up 💪

10-Minute Backpacking Warm-Up ⛰️

After packing camp and before hitting the trail, I like to get some movement in to loosen up stiff joints, activate key muscles, and prepare my body to carry a load over uneven terrain.

A few minutes of mobility and activation can go a long way toward feeling better on the trail.

Save this for your next backpacking trip.
