I could throw 95+ mph but couldn’t command the ball the way I wanted to. For years, nobody could tell me why.

I worked with PTs, trainers, sports med doctors, world-class coaches, and chiropractors. All of them smart, all of them well-intentioned. But none of them could clearly identify what was actually holding me back. They treated symptoms. They built strength around problems instead of solving them. Like putting a bigger engine in a car with misaligned tires.

What they all missed was how tension distributes through the whole body, and how compensations quietly compound over time until they become your ceiling.

That’s the core of Functional Patterns, the method I now train with and use with my clients. Instead of isolating muscles or chasing symptoms, it looks at how your whole body moves as a system and works backward from there to find what’s actually breaking down.

Once I started training that way, everything changed. I throw harder and more accurately now in my 30s than I did in my 20s. More importantly, it feels good. No soreness after max-effort outings. No mystery tightness. Just a body that finally works the way it’s supposed to.

If this sounds familiar, drop a comment or DM me and we can talk.

When it comes to building strength, most people are doing it in ways that create imbalance in the body.

Lifts like back squats and deadlifts train you to produce force from a stationary position, a setup that compresses the spine and locks your body into positions that degrade movement over time.

We focus on building strength through movements that challenge your whole body to work together. This is how you create balance, build resilience, and stay athletic for the long haul.

When it comes to improving health and performance, bringing balance to your muscles, fascia, and posture is king. This is what sets the stage for everything else: how your nerves function and how you move.

We’re seeing a lot of videos out there claiming that everything in training starts with the nervous system. But if your fascia is dehydrated or restricted, your nervous system can’t even do its job properly. No amount of “nervous system training” will override bad posture and stuck tissues.

This is why we help you address these structural imbalances first, so your fascia, muscles, bones, and nervous system can work together as a system, the way they’re meant to.

The FP First 4 is crucial for achieving the results you’re looking for. Focusing on these foundational movements allows you to move athletically and pain-free while slowing down the degeneration of your body over time. By aligning training with what our environment naturally drives us to do, we tap into the governing natural laws of our bodies.
Physics applies not only to structures like the Empire State Building but also to our bodies, posture, and the way we move.
What are the most important movements parents strive for their children to learn? Are these movements also important for us to maintain as we age into our 70s, 80s, and beyond?

Standing, walking, running, and throwing top that list. In fact, all other forms of movement directly stem from the FP First 4.
Other systems often focus on movements beyond this foundation. Since improving someone’s running mechanics is a difficult task, most systems focus on teaching flashy, eye-catching movements that offer very little meaningful change in overall mechanics. At Functional Patterns, we’ve discovered the formula that makes attaining lasting results possible.

Athletes like Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Deion Sanders excelled in multiple sports because standing, walking, running, and throwing are the common denominators in high-level performance. Mastering these functions increases the likelihood of seamlessly transitioning between different types of human movement.

We don’t make these claims solely based on the foundation of our training system. Nature has led us to this understanding because our movements are dictated by our environment.
Planet Earth sets the rules: prioritizing the FP First 4 in training creates a body that moves and reacts in ways that promote long-term health, minimizing degeneration and pain over time.

Extremely proud of these two guys. No matter what comes their way they’re putting their best foot forward on the field and in the gym, every damn time.

On our hunt to leverage the body more efficiently, we leave no stone unturned, and that is why we succeed.
